Garlic
Leaves: tubular leaf sheaths clustered at the bottom
Flowers: tiny white to pinkish flowers in a globe-shaped pod in spring and summer
Stems: strong, straight, circular stem
Fruit: perennial with compound bundle of bulbs enclosed together in a thin skin
Height: nearly 60cm Harvest: gather bulbs when leaves begin to brown and wither in fall. Store in a cool dry place.
Healer use: Oils from the bulb are useful in inhibiting several kinds of bacteria, fungi, yeast, and a few viruses. It also can be used to treat several kinds of parasites and has limited usefulness in certain ailments of the lungs and stomach and as a pallative. Glaric is also useful for sore throats, yeast infections, earaches, catarrh, colds, acne, constipation, headaches, insect bites/stings, and as an expectorant.
Cooking use: used to add flavor to many dishes, and can be eaten raw if one doesn't mind strong odored breath.
