Rosemary
Leaves: dense, aromatic evergreen shrub, leaves are long, thin, and dark green
Flowers: blue spring flowers which are two lipped and tubular
Stems: square with a brown, woody stem
Height: grows to 2m, depending on variety
Harvest: gather leaves and flower tops in late autumn and hang dry
Dangers: Avoid medicinal doses if pregnant.
Healer use: Rosemary is antiseptic and aid in the digestion of fat. The leaves stimulate cirulation and ease aching joints by increasing the blood supply. The oil is antibacterial and antifungal. It also stimulates the central nervous system and blood circulation, as well as relieving muscle pain. The leaves can be brewed into a good mouthwash. The essential oil, used topically, is suggested for use on rheumatism.
Cooking use: Rosemary is used to season many meat dishes, particularly fish, pork, and lamb. The leaves help preserve food.
