Weyrleader K'reyel and Weyrwoman Saibra are planning a series of emergency drills for Dragonsfall Weyr in order to assess the Weyr's state of readiness when it comes to handling unplanned situations. Because they didn't want to raise an alarm at their neighboring Weyrs, Saibra called in Weyrwoman Cyradis from Dolphin Cove and Weyrwoman Lenala from River Bluff Weyr to inform them of the drills... and to exchange a little gossip, from one Weyrwoman to another.
Two old friends, D'ale and W'ser, had a drink together, reminiscing about their bachelor days and how things are much better since they found Yanley and Sasima.
A'kua has a not-so-good experience with one of the fresh Candidates who doesn't want to work. Z'then comes upon the young bronzerider while he is still fuming over the matter.
Saibra meets with Z'then as his Wingleader and suggests that he practices flying with some of the higher-altitude Wings so that he can begin working on overcoming his fear of heights. Z'then is at first afraid that Saibra doesn't want him in her Wing, but the Weyrwoman assured him that he has a place in Sienna Wing for as long as he wishes.
Midway through the month A'kua takes Jessmyr home to meet his family, and he shares news with Z'then that he found a wild firelizard clutch.
D'kere does his best to be social with Talwynn's family by spending some time with her cousin T'shi, who happens to be the most well-versed player of games in the Weyr. The two men talk about different things, with D'kere offering some advice on women at Dragonsfall, but finally settling for a game of darts.
Greenrider Tavia and Greenrider Aileyan share a moment, reminiscing about how far they have come since Tavia moved to Dragonsfall and how their children have grown.
A little misunderstanding causes E'naer undo worry as G'wen takes a spill from Neath while landing during Threadfall. The greenrider turns out to be fine after all of the confusion, much to E'naer's relief.
Finally, Weyrwoman Saibra's gold Chioneth rises for the third time at Dragonsfall, and even though both R'enh of Dolphin Cove, and former Weyrleader G'nir, urged their bronzes to win, it was K'reyel's bronze Erdenth who caught Chioneth for the second time, securing his position as Weyrleader once again.
