**Shells...I must be the silliest woman on Pern.** Cinale couldn't keep the ridiculous little smile from her lips as she hunched down into the thick furs of her bed. She couldn't remember ever feeling like this before - not even when she'd been just a girl, demurely oggling over her dragonrider crush. A small shiver of delight rippled through her as her thoughts turned to Daigoro, and she closed her eyes, touching the tip of her finger to her lips.
Daigoro felt almost light headed as he kicked off his boots and flopped straight back into his bed with a huge grin on his face. Shards, he could still feel the blood tingle in his veins as he remembered that first soft kiss. Did it really all happen? Did he finally say all those things he had always wanted to say but didn't dare? Well, to be honest, not always. There was a time when he and Cinale were only friends... He wondered when that changed. And when did _her_ feelings change? Did it even _matter_? Shards, it didn't matter a tunnel snake's turd! She loved him too! That was the most amazing thing. She loved _him_ too!
It was true that she had been kissed by men before - when she'd been younger. But Daigoro... It just felt _right_. When he'd kissed her, it'd been like a welcoming home. His lips had been so gentle, his hands so soft as they had slid up her arms to lightly cup her cheeks, holding her as if she were made of glass.
He grabbed one of the pillows off of the top of his bed and yelled into it a joyous howl. What a fool he must seem, the Hallsecond thought. He was giddy and smiling from ear to ear and he had unnatural urges to go screaming down the Hall... This must be what keeps Fielton locked up with his little lovely all day and night. This feeling! This silly, idiotic feeling that was just so... right! It was all so right! The way she fit against him... the way her lips shyly parted under his... those eyes.. or shards, how could forget those _eyes_! He threw the pillow off and lay back on his bed with a long contented sigh.
Cinale curled up on her side, hugging one of the extra pillows to her breast. She could have stayed out there all night with him, curled up in his warm embrace as the winter breeze whirled around them. She blushed at the thought. He loved her. Everything in his contenance told her he did...everything...

"No," she whispered softly against him, "I'm not cold." Well...perhaps she was, a little, but she didn't want to leave his arms. Cinale nestled her head on his shoulder, her body gently pressed up against his side.
Daigoro burried his nose in her hair. She smiled like spices and freshly-baked bread. "You smell so good," he whispered. She smelled like a home. He _felt_ at home. And yet he felt like a young man, snuggling with a woman for the first time.
She chuckled, a girlish blush rising in her cheeks - not for the first time that evening. "You sure it's me? Or is it the remnant of my baking?"
"Hmmm. I don't know." He genltly tilted her face towards his so he could look into her eyes. "But I hope I'll have many changes to figure that out."
She gazed back at him, the blush in her cheeks deepening. "I'm sure you'll get those chances, hon."
"Oh you beauty," he smiled. "I should have told you a long time ago just how much I loved you." Daigoro gently touched her cheek, marveling at how soft it was, though, not nearly so soft or as sweet as her lips felt under his.
She blinked. "How long ago?" Then her blush turned into an embarrassed flush. What a question to ask! She tilted her cheek into his touch, lightly rubbing it against his fingers. The cook couldn't help but be curious though...
His face took on a more serious look. "You know, I am not even sure. I've known I loved you for months, but... I think it grew over time." Daigoro's browed furrowed a bit. He had told her how _he_ felt. But...
"And... you?"
Cinale blushed, once again brushing her cheek against his fingers. "It was the same for me, love," she murmured. Then her blue eyes flickered teasingly up into his. "But you've always been so charming."
"And you've always been beautiful," he retorted with a grin. "And gentle and kind. You are... amazing."
She lightly pushed at him, laughing softly, a bit embarrassed - but loving the feeling. "If you don't stop letting the compliments flow like your brews, my face is going to get even redder..."
"Well," he smiled, "there is _one_ way to shut me up..."
"Oh?" A knowing grin began to twitch at her lips. "And what's that? Do I need to feed you?"
Daigoro shrugged. "Well, you were baking cookies earlier..."
She found herself rolling her eyes in a rather undignified way. "_Daigoro_..." And then, in a very unlady-like manner, she boldly leaned forward and tilted her face, pressing her lips to his. Granted, it was not the most sensuous of kisses, and it left a lot to be desired, but even still...
His thick arms wrapped around her as he gently guided her into a bit deeper kiss. It had been a long time since he had kissed a woman, but there were things he remembered. But he was sure it never had felt _this_ good.
Oh... Oh shells... Mmmm. Her fingers curled into the material of his coat as she let herself follow his lead, a little unsure of how to kiss him back. She'd never been kissed like this before in all her life! Suddenly, foolishly, she felt embarrassed, knowing that her inexperience was probably quite obvious, she pulled back a bit.
Daigoro pulled back too and looked down into her eyes with concern. "I'm sorry, Cinale. Am I... pushing you too far?"
She shook her head. "No, no. It's just... Well." Shells. She looked down, her eyes fixed on one of the buttons of his coat, too embarrassed to look up into his face. "I'm not... I don't..." _Shells_. Gathering enough courage - this was _Daigoro_ after all, the man who knew her so well, her hon - she lifted her eyes to his, her expression almost imploring him.
He could see in what she was thinking in her big, pleading, innocent eyes. The big brewer smiled down at her lovingly. "I _like_ the way you kiss me, my love."
Again, she blushed. "Then I take it you wouldn't mind if I...did it again?" What a question to ask!
"I think I would be very happy if you did," he murmured reassuringly.
And so she did.

Grinning, Cinale buried her face in the pillow, blushing at the memory. Shells...she couldn't wait for tomorrow.
