G'wen barely heard the door shut. Mentally, he cursed P'nal and his
roughness. He had always been aware the brownrider didn't like him, but did
he have to be so brutal? Moaning under his breath, G'wen curled up into a
ball of hurt.
As soon as he got the word from Eillispeth, E'naer hurried to mating cots.
He did take a stop at the infirmary, to get the fellis. It still took him a
while to reach there.
"G'wen, darling?"
The bed furs shifted and G'wen's head peered up at E'naer. "Oh, thank
Faranth it's you." The last person he wanted to see was P'nal. He moaned in
pain as he shifted to sit up.
"Oh, G'wen!" He made a worried sounds and almost dropped the cup when he
rushed to his side, to collect him to his arms. E'naer had had his share of
bad Flights too, but difference was that he was physically larger sized
person, so he could tolerate more roughness than some one as delicate as
G'wen.
"Don't do that!" the boy exclaimed when his weyrmate almost dropped the one
thing that was keeping him from losing the plot in pain. A hug was nice but
he really_needed_that fellis!
"Sorry! Here," E'naer said and gave him the fellis cup. "How bad is it?"
G'wen took a grateful swallow of the medicine before answering. "Ever
wrapped one of those long green vegetables with sandpaper and shoved it up
your arse?" He nodded and took another swallow. "It feels like that."
"Ouch," E'naer winced with sympathy.
"Damn right it's ouch." G'wen glared at him over the rim of his glass and
kept drinking until the fellis was gone. Giving E'naer the glass, he
shuddered and pulled a face. "Why does it always have to taste so bad?"
"To prevent us drinking too much of it. If it were good, we would all end
up as fellis-addled addicts and what would that lead to? Think what Falls
would be like," E'naer replied. He kept his voice light although, what he
really wanted to do was to go and strangle someone.
G'wen laughed. "Well, as long as the dragons weren't drinking it as well,
maybe we'd all be okay. If you go from what Neath says, us riders aren't
really needed much at all." he snorted, thinking of his haunty green girl,
who was still sound asleep when he reached out in his mind for her.
"Well, yes, Eillie seems to think like that too. We're only needed to feed
them firestone," E'naer was happy to hear him joking. "You think you can
walk back to our weyr?"
"I could limp back...but you could carry me as well!" G'wen sized up his
weyrmate and the huge size difference between him. He wouldn't weigh more
than a feather to E'naer.
"I can try. Don't blaime me if I fell on the stairs," E'naer said with
teasing tone and picked him up. He wasn't that feather weight...more like
two full firestone sacks.
"Would I do a thing like that?" G'wen wrapped his arms around E'naer's neck
and kissed him tenderly on the lips.
"Don't distract me either or I'll drop you," E'naer said, his arms
tightening around his mate.
"My arse is sore enough, please don't!" G'wen buried his cheek against
E'aner's chest. It felt good to be safe once again.
"I think I'll have few words with Jodeth's rider," E'naer muttered darkly
while he carried his weyrmate home.
