Date: month 12, day 4 of Turn 7
The trip up the river hadn't been so horribly long and the riverboat was comfortable. Thankfully the boat people weren't so uptight about female crafters as everyone else was so they had treated her fine. Her journeyman companion hadn't been horrible either. All in all, Asley had enjoyed the vacation. Now here she was, at the docks. She was alone. And she couldn't help but look to either side of her. **Are they watching?**
It took some doing and some asking, but she found the ship she needed. Her berth had already been assured. She'd switched her knots for that of a holder so no one would ask questions. Of course she didn't have a chaperone but someone her turns should already be married anyhow. Safely ensconced in her small cabin, she put her things down and sighed, falling into the berth.
"In just three days I will be back at the Weyr. I am a journeyman printer." Sighing, Asley watched the light coming through the porthole and she smiled to herself. She had made it and survived. She could do this. "Wonder if everyone is still there?" Rolling over, she took off the heavy shawl she'd been wearing despite the heat. One needed to look respectable, after all.
It was easy to feel when the ship launched. The floor began to rock beneath her. Fortunately, she had made a Crossing already and had lived at Topaz Seahold so Asley was no stranger to ships. It had been a long time, though, and she needed to get her sea legs. Sitting on the bed, she closed her eyes and waited. Of course she hadn't had any sleep since the morning. So she felt her eyes getting heavy. And before long, she was asleep.

Waking up, she was startled at first not knowing where she was. Her eyes adjusted after some time and she remembered. She was going to the Weyr on a ship. Her stomach made a few noises and she wiped her mouth and face. "Wonder if I missed dinner?" Moving to stand, she wobbled for a bit then became steady. Asley walked forward and opened the door, walking out into the passageway. **Do I smell food?** She didn't remember where they said the galley was. Surely not far, though? Headed down, she ran into an older man who was walking with a cane rather slowly. Passing him up, she kept on. There was only so much ship.
Finally, she did locate what she wanted. **I did miss dinner. Shards!** Groaning, she wondered if she might find something anyway. Rummaging, she found some leftover biscuits and tubers. Taking them as her due, she ate them without care for heating them up. She was hungry. **Now hopefully I can find my way back** There were lanterns lit but it wasn't the greatest lighting scheme.
Knowing it could turn ugly if she ran into some sailor who decided to have a little fun, she hurried along. Her blonde hair fanned out behind her and she prayed her awkward physique sent them all scurrying away. **I know I'm not pretty after all. Never have been.** At long last, she made it to her door and slipped inside. Laying back on the bed, she devoured the tubers and biscuits before settling in again for sleep.
