K'mai

K'mai

After the technicians left her office, Rhosyn grabbed up the water
pitcher and drank heavily. It was hot and now they had found a small
leak in one of the pipes. Hopefully, it would get fixed soon because
that was something she didn't need. Thank Faranth the headwoman's
staff had noticed the change in water pressure. When she was done
drinking, she looked at the pitcher for a moment. Then she lifted it up
and poured it over head. She looked like a slightly drowned mess but
she didn't care.

Leaving her office, she padded down the hall ignoring the curious
looks. Most of her weyrfolk were used to her strange behavior so they
had stopped asking questions long before. Reaching the exit to the
Bowl, she walked out and went straight for the lake. Making it, she
didn't bother ripping off her shirt and skirt but just walked into the
water.

"I understand being hot but that's no reason to soak your clothes,
too." K'mai said from his spot on the shore. He wondered if it might
be an emotional thing.

"Some people don't like it when I go naked. And anyway when I get out
I'll be cooler because everything will be wet." She shrugged. "Clothes dry-
no harm done." Dipping her head under the water, she came back up and
waded for awhile.

"You are an odd one," he said in a pleasant tone.

"You aren't the first and you won't be the last person to ever say that to
me." Shrugging, she walked out of the water after a few moments and then stood
there dripping for a bit. The fabric hugged her, but she didn't seem to
care. And it was cooler.

K'mai tilted his head, eyes roaming over her body. "You could stay
there until you dry. I quite like the view."

The look she gave him was one that basically said **Oh please**. Of course
since it was K'mai, there wasn't a lot of annoyance in it. Still, Rhosyn
shook herself some and then started to walk back toward the entrance. "Too bad we don't
have a waterball scrimmage till tomorrow or I could have just stayed in the water
till then."

"Where are you headed?"

"Dunno really. Was thinking about walking dripping down the tunnels to
see if the harper had my records copied and ready to file. That's an easy
enough task to accomplish, wet or not." A very Rhosyn-like grin escaped her as she
made it clear she didn't mind upsetting her weyrfolk.

K'mai chuckled. "The harper might not appreciate you dripping on his files."

"Oh I didn't say I was going to be the one filing them. I'm just going to
see if they're ready. I'm sure there's a candidate somewhere that needs a chore."
And anyway, Rhosyn did enough Record tasks. She could leave that one to
someone else.

K'mai stretched and got up to follow her. "Does that mean you'll have
some free time?"

"Maybe so. Why? Did you have plans?" Due to the heat it actually wouldn't
take long for Rhosyn to dry if she had stayed outside for a bit of time. However,
the Weyrwoman reached the entrance easily, stopping for the bluerider to catch
up.

"I could make some," he teased. In his humble opinion, the Weyrwoman
needed more fun in her life and he was happy to provide.

"Give me a hint and maybe I'll rearrange. It better be good, though."
Cajoling him to be creative was deliciously fun. And it also seemed to lead
to interesting adventures. Those were also fun usually.

A challenge! "Are you in the mood for excitement or relaxation?" K'mai
couldn't go for his usual way to spend a few candlemarks -- Rhosyn
didn't seem interested in another tumble with him. That was fine, she
was still interesting company.

"Let's say excitement!" It was going to be an otherwise lazy day besides a
few menial tasks anyway. So why not do something interesting? She could catch up
on those things in the morning.

"There's a Gather up north. You could leave your knots behind and be a
humble bluerider's lady friend for a day." There would be plenty to
do: races, games, dancing...

"Hmm where at?" She was already thinking. Rhosyn could easily put
aside her knots. The problem was her face on dragonpoker decks and
she was pretty easily recognizable. Then again, one could always try
and it was the north after all.

"A mid-sized Hold in Keroon territory."

That meant it would smell like a beasthold. No matter. There would be good
food there. "Give me a little bit and then I'll meet you in the Bowl." She turned
to disappear, heading towards her weyr.

K'mai let out a little whoop and hurried to get a few things from his own
weyr.
