Description: M'tias requests permission to pick up his craft.
Location: Harper Hall
Date: month 10, day 18 of Turn 3

The Hallsecond watched the young brownrider as he made his way across the weyrbowl. He seemed deep in thought, and as she studied him, she thought that there was something about him that reminded her of her own son.

M'tias head for the haper hall, even after talking with Figol he wanted to find out if he could in some way continue his training as a harper. How better to ask than the harper hall. Looking up he saw a woman wear hall seconds knotes. "Are you Master Thanja?"

"I am, yes. Can I help you brownrider?"

"I was an apprentice at the hall before I impressed. I wasn't there for very long but I''ve thought about picking up my training agian. I was wondering if you'd know who I would ask about that."

This one came straight to the point if nothing else, she thought. "You can speak to me about it if you want..." She paused, waiting for the lad to give his name.

"M'tias, it was Martias. My dragon is Woenth."

"How old are you M'tias, if you don't mind me asking." He looked maybe a turn or too younger in age than her own dragonrider son, her estimate was fourteen turns give or take a month. Certainly too young for a fighting wing.

"Fourteen turns. I impressed young, but Woenth was waiting so I couldn't say no."

"No, no you couldn't," **Just like An'dr,** she thought to herself. "He needed you, and you needed him."

"Do you think I could pick up my training, part time mabye?"

"I'm sure it will be possible. My son, he impressed at about your age, and the Weyrlingmaster allowed hims to continue with some classes. I think he got two or three afternoons a sevenday, threadfall and other duties permitting."

"Your son? Who is he?" M'tias hadn't even heard that the Master had children.

"My middle son, An'dr is a bluerider over at River Bluff Weyr."

"You must be proud." he smiled, he knew most parents were.

"Very proud, as I'm sure your parents are of you," she replied.

"My mother is very proud." he repiled. He felt it was better _not_ to mention his father.

"Do you remember what classes you were taking, before you came here to Dolphin Cove?"

"Just the basics, Charter law mostly."

"In that case, I think you'll need to see Journeyman Daevady, and ask him if he can give you a review to see what you remember. Once you've done that, speak to the Weyrlingmaster and see how much time you'll be alloted, and we can work out a schedule from there."

"Joureyman Daevady? Thank you Master Thanja. Do I need to come to you when the Weyrlingmaster lets me know?"

"If you would," she replied.

"Thank you Master Thanja." he repeated. He wasn't used to speaking with a female master but she seemed all right.

"You're welcome, brownrider M'tias."
