Description: The two women commiserate
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 4, day 7 of Turn 8

"Reeva! Why on Pern is my head splitting apart like it was an earthquake?"
Rhosyn whined, in a voice she didn't use very often. The Weyrwoman
had wandered into the infirmary and was looking around as if it was not the
place she wanted to be but she would put up with it if it fixed her problem.

*That makes sharding two of us then, my dear.*
The words swam lazily through Reeves head, but she didn't say anything. Nor
did she succumb to the temptation to ask the woman how on Pern Reeva
would know what she'd done to earn her head pain. All she said was a simple
"Weyrwoman?"

"Do you have anything I can use to get the pain gone? I have too much else
to do today. No lying in bed allowed..." Although once the day was done, she
was going to crawl into her bed and shut out the world for the blessed dark.

Reeva quietly rolled her eyes. "Yes, Weyrwoman. I'll just hand you a bunch
of pills with no real idea why. That sounds just right." It was slightly
snarkier then she usually used, but only slightly. "Or you could give me an
idea what's earned it and we'll go from there?"

"Just told you, I have a headache. I don't know why but it's been here since
this morning. I've eaten and everything like normal. And I did sleep. So I
don't know why either. But I don't want it to continue." Rhosyn didn't know
what else to say really. It was a throb in her right temple and she didn't
think it would stop on its own.

Reeva nodded and wordlessly passed her a small container. "This should help,
then." Reeva coughed slightly. "I'm guessing now might not be the time to
remind you you've been overdue to come see me for checkups for rather a
while now?"

At the mention of a checkup, Rhosyn looked rather like she had just
swallowed a redfruit whole. She gave Reeva a quiet look. "Just because it
isn't the time doesn't mean you won't do it. Seriously why do I need one of
those? I'm fine. Just tired."

"In order to provide a good example to the Weyr? Who I have a hard enough
time getting to cooperate with me and the other Healers?" She sank into her
seat with tiredness showing. In truth she was too tired- bone tired- to want
to fight Rhosyn's tough persona. "You can go if you're busy, Weyrwoman. It
was just a reminder."

Being that that was an odd reaction from Reeva, Rhosyn felt a little bad.
Sighing, she took a bit of the medicine and then let it go down. "What do
you mean people won't cooperate?"

"Dragon men are brave and bold. They are also remarkably stubborn. Try
getting one to stay in bed for a sevenday and you'll see."

"Stubborn or not, I'm the Weyrwoman. So if I tell them to, they'd better.
Just like I would expect every single one of my wingriders to listen to a Master
Healer if they were ordered something. So why on Pern are you letting them
give you guff when you outrank most of them?" That was highly unlike Reeva
too and Rhosyn was beginning to worry.

Reeva raised a sardonic eyebrow and kept it there. "Who said I let them?
However, the arguments are tiring. And, as you so aptly prove, avoidance is
easy too."

"Since when are arguments tiring? You love to argue. Okay seriously what's
going on?" Rhosyn gave her a look that said she wanted an explanation. And she
wouldn't give up till she had one.

Reeva's eyes actually rolled. "Trying to avoid giving me a date for your checkup,
Weyrwoman? Slickly done." She turned away, neatly avoiding Rhosyn's question
herself, and turned back with a glass clasped in one hand.

**Woman thinks she's good at guilt trips does she?** The Weyrwoman in
question gave her the eye. Seeing the glass, a brow raised. "Oh it's like
that. No seriously, Reeva. I like you. So when you seem out of sorts, I ask
why. So if there's something I can do about it like liberating you from the
Weyr or other things, I know to do them." She shrugged, thinking things had
been rough on everyone lately.

"I'm just tired Weyrwoman." Her face certainly bore witness to that.

**Me too.** "Well then go get some sleep." She herself had been trying to
juggle the needs of her body with the needs of her Weyr and wasn't getting
along very well, but she was trying.

"What is this 'sleep' you talk about?" Reeva winked, a small smile tugging
at her mouth corners. "Ok, Weyrwoman, you win this round. But we will have
that appointment someday, like it or not."

Somewhere in the back of her mind, she recognized Reeva's warning for what
it was. And the problem was Rhosyn was sure she did really need it, but she
couldn't afford to slow down just then which she was sure was what the healers would
make her do. "Just say I ordered you to go count needlethorns or something and go
take a nap. I'll vouch for it."
