Bryvin

Yriadha loosened the laces on her dress carefully, then looked at the
mirror critically as she curved her hands over the roundness that was
slowly growing. She couldn't help but count herself lucky. As slender
as she'd always been, she'd never gotten huge during pregnancy as so
many women did, at least not until very late. Loosening her dress made
it possible to continue to hide her condition. If there was a slight
roundness in her cheeks, well, she decided, many could attribute it to
weight gain that so many women suffered late in life.

Her nose wrinkled as she considered it and rubbed her abdomen once
again. So far, it had gone smoothly. She only had occasional bouts of
sickness, but no where near what it had been. And she had kept it
quiet.

Her hand paused as she felt the shift within her and caught her
breath, her hand splaying flat on her abdomen. It was a flutter, but
it was there. The first one. She looked down and murmured softly,
"There you are." She didn't hear the door open behind her, so
distracted was she by the newly felt movement.

"Lovely," he said with a smile in his voice. He looked at the
reflection in the mirror. "How are you feeling?

She turned quickly, her arms folding instinctively over her abdomen.
At the sight of him, she relaxed just a bit and turned back to the
mirror, hands cradling her growing belly. "Better. I'm not so sick
anymore." She felt another flutter and for a moment, her gaze
softened. "The child is moving now."

His smile gentled. Certain things were important to Bryvin, the thing
was, most people who came in contact with him couldn't figure out what
those things were. But right now his face was unguarded as he reached
for her. "Can I feel it?"

Privately she thought the movement so slight that he might not feel
the flutters, but she studied his face for a moment before nodding.
"Of course." She turned to allow him better access to her stomach.

"Where," he asked as he reached for the gentle curve below her waist.
He mimicked the splay of her fingers and placed his hand where hers
had been. "Here?"

"Hm." She murmured in agreement and relaxed, feeling the warmth of his
hand over her belly. There was an instant flutter, as if the child
acknowledged the father's touch and she pressed his hand over the area
to encourage the sensation. "The child knows you." Her voice was soft.

He didn't feel anything at all but he concentrated and felt her relax
against him. The tone of her voice was almost sweet, and he leaned in
to kiss her temple. "This child will know me very well," he promised
her.

She murmured a soft agreement again and for a while, just let herself
relax and lean slightly against Bryvin, feeling far closer to him than
she had her husband when she'd born him children. At the kiss to her
temple, her lips curled up in response. For that moment, she felt
almost content. She felt the child flutter again and closed her eyes.
"No regrets then?"

Knowing Yriadha as he did, he wouldn't go so far as to say that, but
this wasn't the time to equivocate. There was a reason it was called a
delicate condition and he wasn't going to upset the redfruit cart. He
didn't have any illusions about her temperament though. "No regrets,"

At that, she smirked, but didn't move. "You lie quite well, Bryvin."
She opened one eye to look at him through their shared reflection in
the mirror. "The Healer you procured is very good. And discreet."

"Why thank you," he acknowledged the compliment with a wink. "I have a
lot of practice." It was quite an experience, this dance with her. The
winds blew from different directions and while he didn't love her he
could appreciate her qualities like he could appreciate a deadly feral
feline. "I keep my promises," he nodded. Then released her gently.

"Hm." She stood straight once again and then turned to face him, brow
arched. "You've not told your Lady wife?"

"Not yet," he half smiled. "Enjoy your triumph while it lasts."

That made her brow twitch higher. "I have my triumph every time you
spread my thighs...my Lord." She purposefully slid her hands down his
chest and her lips curled.

That curved up the other half of his smile and his hand caressed the
side of her face. "Such talent," he murmured and stroked her bottom
lip with a thumb. "But I cannot be... 'disarranged' just now. I must
return to my wife." He wouldn't have a chance to wash prior to seeing
her and it wouldn't do for him to smell like fresh sex. He might not
care in the future but with Xeladrie pregnant as well, he didn't want
to cause issues with the babe right now.

"I'll be back later."

Yriadha nipped at his fingertip before drawing it into her mouth for
only a moment. "Yes, my Lord."

"Good," he smiled. That was exactly the welcoming type of flirtation
his wife never displayed. As he walked out the door he was already
thinking ahead to his guests but the promise of pleasure deferred was
in the back of his mind. Perhaps, that evening, he was a trifle
happier and pleasant to his guests.
