Characters: G'wen, E'naer
Description: Things get confusing when E'naer thinks his weyrmate has been injured
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 12, day 10 of Turn 8

G'wen heard Neath cry out and then all was the black of /between/. Then they were flying rapidly over the weyrbowl, Neath whimpering. He looked over his shoulder to see where the source of her pain was coming from. Her left wing had been lightly lanced, but it wasn't bad enough for her panicked thoughts. Even so, he unbuckled his straps, ready to slide down her shoulder as soon as she landed.

She must have sensed his bemusement. Her landing was harder than it needed to be, and G'wen wasn't ready. He tumbled over her shoulder and fell to the ground. Being that Neath was extremely large for a green, it was a long fall.

Everything went black.

}: She's hurt, :{ Eillispeth reported to her rider. She had made a habit of following certain dragons who were important to her or to her rider.

**Who is? ** E'naer asked, busy with his double duties as Weyrlingmaster's Third and a dragonhealer.

}: Neath. :{

That made him stop whatever he was doing. **Is it bad?** he asked with concerned mind-voice.

}: I don't know yet. :{

**Well, find out! **

Neath's message back was a bumble of confusion. }:I'm hurt! My lifemate!!:{

Eillispeth relayed this to his rider who was growing more and more frantic with worry. But he couldn't just dump his duties and rush away.

**Try to keep her calm,** E'naer instructed Eillispeth.

But Neath was having none of it. }:I can't hear him!!:{

E'naer finally found someone to cover for him and could rush in to the scene. **Where are they?** he asked and Eillispeth provided him a visual from Neath. He ran to the Weyrplateau. First thing he saw was the healers around Neath.

The large green was crooning and looking down at her lifemate laying on the floor.

"What's going on?" E'naer asked, worried sick.

"Knocked himself senseless," one of the healers muttered, holding a cold pack against the bump on G'wen's head.

"How?" E'naer was perplexed. This was not the scene he was expecting. He had been expecing worse.

"Beats me," the healer shrugged.

"E'naer, can you help me to calm her down? I can't tend her wing when she's like this," a dragon healer asked. He was one of the younger journeyman, which indicated that the Scoring wasn't considered that severe.

"Of course. Neath, let the dragonhealer take care of you. Your rider will be fine," He told Neath and Eillispeth added her reassurances.

Grumbling, Neath moved her great head away. Under her G'wen groaned and put a hand to his head. " Wha...happened?"

"You tell us," E'naer said dryly. "Are you alright?" he added with concerned tone. "You gave us a scare. We thought you were Scored!"

G'wen blinked up at his lover and shook his head. "No, but Neath is." His face full of worry, he glanced around to see where she was.

As if he could miss the hulking green head hovering over him.
"The healers can take care of her. Let's have someone take a look at you, you may have concussion," E'naer said gently, his ages ago done healer training resufracing. He helped the smaller greenrider up to his feet.

Neath moved her head out of the way and let the healers look at her score, now that she knew G'wen was okay. for his part, G'wen did as E'naer said, leaning on his partner. "The ground's spinning a bit," he whispered to E'naer.

"Definently a concussion," E'naer was all concern.

"Great." G'wen pushed his forehead into E'naer's chest, looking for some comfort.

The healer looked at E'naer. "He looks okay, but let's just take him over to the infirmary and get him looked over. Then he can just rest up for a few days in your weyr. Sound okay?"

"Sounds good to me," E'naer replied to the healer.

"Darling, go with him, I'll come to see you as soon as the Fall is over, " he asked G'wen, gently pushing him towards the healer.

G'wen didn't ask any question, he just went with the healer. Over E'naer's shoulder Neath huffed at her own healer's handiwork, her breath blowing against E'naer.

"Don't worry, Neanth, we'll fix him and we'll fix you," E'ner reassured the dragon. As for scolding G'wen for getting injured like _that_ well, he would spare that until he was feeling better and they were in private.
