"I still can't believe you /timed it/," Saibra had been helped through
a bath, the bedding changed, and both babies were wrapped in clean
blankets with knit caps on their heads. Darkness had fallen outside
but for Saibra it felt like a brand new day. "And I am so glad you
did," she continued, "because I couldn't have done it without you."

"I'm relieved," he said with a hand over his heart. He meant it even
if he was being a trifle dramatic. "I wouldn't have missed it for
anything," he added.

Her eyes gazed over the children, resting on the perfectly curled
little fingers with their delicately white-tipped fingernails. The
tiny, round button noses, and the downy soft tufts of dark hair that
stuck out from beneath their caps. "They are so perfect." She tilted
her head back to look at R'enh, "And they need names."

"Well," he smiled. "How about Salenh and Brenha?" He'd been thinking
of both boy and girl names over the last month or so and those were a
couple of his favorites. Particularly the girl's name.

"Are you a Brenha?" Saibra cooed, stroking a finger down her
daughter's cheek. "I like that, Bren for short."

"I'd like for him to have more of your name, perhaps Renhai?" she suggested.

"That could work too," he smiled down at his son. "I was Rorlenh
before I Impressed. I wonder what he'll be..."

Saibra tilted her head, "Or maybe Aibren?

"Do you think they'd get confused with Bren in both their names?" He
could see it now two, tikes running around the weyr screaming and them
trying to call it to a halt. He smiled. He knew it was going to be
work. But it would also be great.

"You're right," Saibra agreed. "I never realized how tricky naming two
children at the same time could be. What about Saihen?"

"That could work," he nodded. It sounded a lot like his first
suggestion so he liked it, besides that he was willing to give Saibra
anything she wanted after what she'd just been through.

"Saihen and Brenha," she smiled. "I can't believe there's two of them
R'enh." She looked up at him with tears glistening in her eyes.

"Neither can I, love," he answered softly and sat next to Saibra and
put an arm around her shoulders. "You did an amazing job. I'm afraid
I'm going to have to fix your present." He let a necklace fall to
dangle from his fingers in front of her. The gold twisted chain was
long enough to nestle between her breasts. But the pendant was two
entwined hearts with a single pearl between them. "It needs another
pearl." There were times when being a jewelcrafter came in handy.

"Oh R'enh," the tears crept from her eyes down onto her cheeks, "it's
beautiful."

"It's nothing compared to you," he murmured and kissed her temple.

Saibra felt overwhelmed in the moment. She had never thought to
experience this part of life ever again after K'fel died. She had been
content to keep relationships light and casual with no strings
attached. Then R'enh had come along. The bronzerider had changed the
direction of her life, and for the better, she thought.

Saihen began stirring, kicking little feet against the tight swaddle
of the blanket. Baby blue eyes peered open as his face wrinkled into a
little cry that brought a chuckle out of Saibra. "I had forgotten how
tiny their cries sound when they're this age. Will you take Brenha?"
One baby was handed off while the other began routing around,
searching for food while Saibra opened the front of her gown.

"Hello little girl," R'enh said softly to his new daughter and stroked
the side of her face with the back of his finger. "Your brothers and
sister are going to love you." Then he watched his son nurse for a
moment. "Sweetheart, you're going to need help. I know how planned to
feed the baby, yourself but with two of them, you won't have time to
do anything else. Should we at least start the search for a milk
mother?"

"Absolutely," Saibra agreed. She was sentimental, but not irrational.
"As soon as I realized there would be two mouths to feed I knew we
would need a milk mother to help."

He smiled again down at the bundle in his arms. "You have always been
an overachiever," he chuckled to Saibra. "Goldrider, Weyrwoman, and
now the mother of twins."
