Description: Gilsha and K'lvin meet and decide to share some "adult" haper's tales.
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 11, day 8 of Turn 3
Since coming to the Weyr, Gilsha had spent the evenings quietly in her weyr, unpacking her few things, reading a book she borrowed from Dragonsfall's impressive Record Room, and curling up to chat with her beautiful Palialohath. Now, however, she craved companionship of a different sort just to break up the monotony that threatened to overtake her life.
But where to go here to meet men? The dining hall was the obvious place. That was where most people went when fishing for a little evening's entertainment. But there the men could be real slimes. Usually she didn't care. Company was company, and as long as they knew that they were doing and didn't talk too much, slimes were as good as a gentleman. But she figured she should start out her time at Dragonsfall right. She wanted to find somewhere with a bit more class. Grabbing the book she had spent the last few nights reading, she decided it was time to return it to the Record Room. There were always smart, nerdy, grateful types wandering around in there. Shards, even an _archivist_ would do. Besides, she actually knew how to _find_ that place.
She walked in and looked around. A woman sat at a table, hunched over a stack of hides. A tall and very nicely built young man looked up and smiled at her. But his knots showed green. Not quite the friend she had wanted to make that evening. She gave him a friendly nod and turned down the aisle between the rows of shelves. **Ah ha!** she thought as she saw a tall, auburn haired man perusing. He would do.
"Excuse me," she said softly, "but do you know what I should do with this book? I borrowed it the other day, and I don't know if I should put it back myself or find an archivist to pass it off to. You know they can be really particular little bastards when it comes to their hides."
K'lvin looked over the edge of his hide, "You should meet U'kaiah then, lad was an archivist, he's around on occasion." The bronzerider smiled.
"However, that one should be left on the desk over there." he pointed across the room, "It's a little to unusual to return yourself. And they are picky." He studied her for a moment. "Gilsha right? Thought I saw you with Cyan?"
"Yes, that would be me," she smiled. "But I don't think _you_ are in Cyan, bronzerider."
"No my dear, Azur, with the Weyrleader. D'wrayt's a good man, if a little frazzled at the moment."
"I see. Hold that thought. I'll just walk this book down to that table down there." Gilsha walked the length of the shelves to lay the book on the far end table, swaying her hips perhaps more than necessary, but she wanted to be sure she was noticed. K'lvin watched the women return with a smile. While his hide was an interesting read, she was a better one. "So then, what book would you recommend me to read next? I'm always looking to try someone new." Her smile told him she was not just referring to authors.
"There is an, how shall we say? Sound interesting? Collection of haper tales. A kind of bedtime story, if not meant for children."
"Oh reeeaaly..." she drawled. "Where would I find such a shocking tale?"
"I believe those are located in the back of the records room, on one of the higher shelves. Interesting? I promise they are far more fun to read with someone."
Gilsha made a face as if to say she was still considering the possibility. "Hmmm. I like reading with company. Especially if there is a nice glass of wine involved."
"I believe I have a nice skin of wine hidden in my weyr. Easy enough to chill and easier to share." He offered.
"I think that sounds like a fine idea, bronzerider."
"Then follow me, my dear." Standing he held out his hand for the greenrider.
"Thank you," she smiled sweetly, taking his hand. "And my name is Gilsha. Not dear."
He nodded, half expecting such a reply "Very well, This way Gilsha."
