Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 9, day 15 of Turn 9

When the official news finally got to her about the young female
candidate. She knew it was her responsibility to talk to Saibra about
what had happened and the sooner the better. They were friends and
had served together in the same Weyr for Turns but this was serious
business and should be discussed in person. So, she dressed warmly for
Dragonsfall and was soon airborne with just a notification to Loseth
of where they'd be and how long they expected to be gone from Dolphin
Cove. She took L'cor and Tonuth with her for escort
}:May mine visit yours,:{ Panitath asked politely as they came out of
/between/ and descended down into the bowl. The watch pair saluted
the queen's arrival and L'cor signaled the Watch pair for permission
to land and then circled down into the bowl with the beautiful queen
on his wing. Once they were down they moved directly into the inner
cavern to get out of the colder weather. Then he dismounted and went
to help Cyradis down while his lifemate made certain the queen was
happy. "Let me help you," he smiled.
"I can do it," she grinned back and slid down the side where Panitath
held up a leg to help her dismount. "Been doing that a few turns now,"
she grinned.
"Yes ma'am," he replied with a bow. "But I wanted to catch you."
"I'm sure you did or were you speaking for Tonuth?" She chuckled and
stroked the soft hide, "Judging from her schedule, I'm sure you'll get
your chance soon enough."
"Cyradis," Saibra smiled as she came to greet the other Weyrwoman.
She'd taken just long enough to throw on her long furlined coat when
Chioneth had reported that Panitath was above Dragonsfall.
}:Panitath is very bright. These bronzes belong to me.:{ Chioneth's
voice was curled in possessiveness, even if she was currently sitting
with her eggs on the Sands.
**No one is here for your bronzes.** Saibra had scolded, inwardly amused.
"To what do I owe this surprise and pleasure? I called for hot klah to
be sent to the council room as soon as I heard you were here."
"Thank you Saibra," Cyradis smiled. "We have a bit of a situation or I
wouldn't have taken her out of the Weyr. I wanted to come to you with
it as soon as I found out."
"Of course," Saibra's smile faded a bit, "let's get to the council
room so we can have a bit of privacy."
She followed the other Weyrwoman into the council room. "We have a
young greenrider who was on messenger duty when his dragon identified
a Candidate. So, eager to prove himself he brought her home to Dolphin
Cove." She half smiled at Saibra and held up her hand. "That wouldn't
be all that bad right? Except he found her at Sunstone."
The Dragonsfall Weyrwoman's eyes narrowed a bit as something skirted
around the edge of her memory. "Wait here," she said as they entered
the room. She disappeared through the adjoining door into her office
and then reappeared with a letter in her hand. "I got this letter from
Headwoman Yriadha at Sunstone asking that we ask her permission in the
future before absconding with her drudges. I assume this is what she's
talking about?"
Cyradis gave a tiny shrug. "I wouldn't be surprised," she said. "I
couldn't get a good read on what she was hiding but I know she was
hiding something. You know how it is when you get that itch that
somethings just not right? Well, I had the Search confirmed and she
_is_ Candidate material. My conversation with the greenrider confirmed
that she'd gone back to get her things and tell someone... so?"
"Maybe she never actually spoke to Yriadha. It wouldn't be the first
time a Candidate was too afraid to ask their superiors for
permission." Saibra thought as she took a seat. "So technically the
girl should be a Dragonsfall Candidate."
"Right," Cyradis nodded. "And then there is the kicker that she
doesn't want to come here. She likes the weather at Dolphin Cove and
wants to stay since it's so much like her home."
Saibra couldn't blame the girl there, Dolphin Cove's weather was
certainly much more to her liking too. "Well, I guess the situation is
not that different than if she'd been brought here and then asked to
go and stand at Dolphin Cove, it just happened a bit out of order."
Cyradis chuckled, "You could say that, yes. Would you like me to send
an explanation and apology to Sunstone?"
"If you wouldn't mind. Dragonsfall's relationship with Sunstone is
still new at best and we don't want them to think we're whisking away
their women when they're not looking." There was a grin on Saibra's
face. "Chioneth says Panitath is glowing. She will rise soon?"
"Of course," Cyradis nodded and smiled back. "I'll send her a note
with an apology and a bottle of my Citroncello." She nodded again.
"She is though she's just started so I took the chance. But we should
get back before N'vanik tries to track us down."
Saibra laughed, "Yes, you should. What does your Weyrwoman's Intuition
tell you? Is it going to be Loseth again?"
"Hard to say," she chuckled. "But one can hope. Loseth is very sneaky
and he knows her moves. Don't tell _her_ that." Cyradis pushed up out
of her seat. "Thank you Saibra and I'm sorry this happened. Oh, and
we'll talk about the babies when I come back for your hatching
alright?"
"Yes, I can't wait for you to meet them. I think they both look like
R'enh," she smiled as she stood to escort the Dolphin Cove Weyrwoman
out.
"I'm sure they look like you too," she smiled back.
