Reven

Reven
Arippa or Faldrimme

Arippa

Reven had taken great care to sneak out of the bed he shared with his
lovely wife early that morning, doing his best not to wake her in
order to maintain the element of surprise. Slipping the lock out of
place, he opened the door and nodded his thanks to the drudge who
carried in the loaded tray of breakfast items.

"Thank you," he whispered.

Setting the tray down gently, he turned and passed through the door
into Pippa's little nursery. The one-turn-old was already awake and
keeping herself occupied in her crib by shoving her toes into her
mouth.

"Good morning, baby girl, are you ready to surprise mama?" he cooed at
her. "I see you have a soggy baby bottom."

Pippa beamed up at him, sporting a few teeth here and there in her
grin. Changing her into something dry, Reven balanced her on his hip
as he passed back through to the bedroom where Arippa was sleeping.

"Wake up, Mama," he said softly, setting Pippa down on the bed, who
crawled immediately toward her mother's face.

The soft sounds had her half awake, she'd always been happy to be a
sound sleeper but there were some times.... (smack) a tiny hand
thwacked the side of her face and she opened one eye. "Pippa?" She
turned her head and reached out for her daughter. "What the sisters?"
Then she opened the other eye to see her husband grinning down at her.
"What are you doing," she chuckled.

"We're bringing you breakfast to celebrate your birthingday," Reven
said, a warm glow wreathing his face as he looked down at his wife. He
had known back when Lady Felyna suggested the proposal that he was
fortunate to be receiving a beautiful wife like Arippa, but it had
taken the last Turn to really make him see exactly how lucky he was
that she wasn't just beautiful on the outside, but on the inside as
well.

"Well thank you," she said grinning up at him and pulled an arm out
from under the covers to sit up in bed. "Hey baby girl," she grinned
at her daughter and then pulled her into her lap. "Did you bring mama
breakfast?"

"'fas!" Pippa cheeped, as close to the word 'breakfast' as she could pronounce.

Reven chuckled, his heart swelling as he looked at wife and daughter.
They had completed his life in ways he could not have imagined when he
was a bachelor. "I've got everything set up in the parlor."

"Sounds wonderful," she smiled. Then she pushed back the covers and
swung her legs over the side. Once into her slippers she handed Pippa
back to her da and slipped on a robe.

The holder of Green Valley placed his hand on the back of Arippa's
neck, giving it a warm squeeze as they walked into the parlor and to
the waiting tray of breakfast items. "What else would you like to do
today? I am at your command," he said, shooting her a heated glance as
he secured Pippa into her tall wooden chair.

"Oh boy," her eyes popped up to his and she blushed at the intensity
in his eyes. She was very familiar and welcoming of that heat as often
as possible. "I'd like to go for a runner ride and then maybe a couple
more rides after that," she said with a smug little smile.

Her quip made him grin. Reven remembered vividly how timid and shy his
wife had been on their wedding night. They had certainly come a long
way from then. "I'll have the stables get the runners ready." He
took his seat.

She grinned back at him and began filling her plate with all her
favorite breakfast foods. Then she filled a smaller plate for Pippa.
"Here you go sweetie," she said as she put the food in front of her
daughter.

"Is your father still coming? You'd mentioned he and Faldrimme might
come for your birthday?" Reven asked.

"They are," she said. "But I don't expect them until after lunch."

"You are, uh, going to wear a separate color from your sister right?
So I can tell you apart?" He winked teasingly at his wife.

"Should I," she asked teasingly.

"It's been a long time since I've seen your sister, though, and
motherhood has been kind to your," his eyes trailed down her neck to
the bit of cleavage he could see from her robe, "figure."

She snorted, "Then I should probably not cover them up too much. Is
that what you're saying?"

"Just the opposite, my lovely wife, I want those covered because I
don't want anyone else looking." His stare was hungry even if he had
just finished his plate of breakfast.

She pinched the bridge of her nose and shook her head. "You're Impossible!"

Reven winked, "Only when it comes to you."

"Good thing," she nodded. "I wouldn't want you to get confused... on purpose."

"Uh oh, I don't like that look in your eyes," he grinned.

"Oh sure," she narrowed her eyes in mock anger. "Be very afraid," she
pointed a finger into his chest. "You better watch it Holder, or you
could find yourself in really big trouble."

Reven gave his wife a smart, jaunty salute, "Yes, milady!"
