It was a chilly day at Drafonsfall, making Saibra extra thankful for
her thick riding leathers and the fur lined riding jacket that kept
her toasty during wing drills. With Teseada gone and Lanniya pregnant,
things in the Wing were operating a little differently but Saibra had
been pleased with how quickly her riders had adjusted to the new
formation they would be flying.

"Hey, you are home," Saibra said with a hint of surprise as she came
into the weyr, rosy cheeked from flying, to see her weyrmate. As a
Wingleader and a man with many irons in the fire, it was unusual to
see him home midday.

He smiled at her and rose from his seat to take her wrap. "How were
drills," he asked as he moved to drape it over a peg. Then he returned
to wrap his arms around her and kiss her chilled cheek.

"It went okay," she said, enjoying the warmth of his hug. "It is a
little different without Tes and Lanni, of course, but we will
manage."

"I know you will," he said softly. Then he pulled her into his lap as
he sat back down in the chair. "But I'm still a little worried."

Saibra's brow furrowed as she tossed her braid over her shoulder. She
didn't like sitting in his lap, she was sure that she was heavy and it
would be uncomfortable for him. "Worried about what?"

He was no mind healer so he didn't know what to say exactly. "I love
you," he said. "You're beautiful but you're getting too skinny."

That was the last thing Saibra had expected him to say and it actually
made her chuckle. "Too skinny?" She shook her head, thinking he was
teasing. "Well that's not a problem, so what are you really worried
about?"

R'enh narrowed his eyes trying to figure out what was going through
her mind "Saibra," he sighed. "You're too thin. You hardly eat, your
ass is as flat as a griddle cake and your boobs have gone on
vacation." He reached for one that no longer filled his hand. "You're
beautiful and I love you. What is going on?"

Hurt lanced through her. "Excuse me?" she pushed out of his lap and
onto her feet. "I do so eat and I'm sorry my body isn't exactly to
your liking anymore."

He sighed heavily and put his head in his hands. He obviously wasn't
getting through to her and everything he said was the wrong thing.
"Did you even _hear_ the part where I said I love you Saibra," he
ground out.

"It was a bit overshadowed by the preceding insults." Saibra wrapped
her arms around her midsection in a protective gesture.

He knew it was impossible to get through to her when she was in one of
these moods and threw his hands in the air. "They weren't insults. You
have no _ass_ and I did so like cupping those round globes with my
hands. Where did it go?" He stood and walked up to her grabbing her
breasts with both hands. "What has happened to these?" Despite his
tone his eyes twinkled down at her.

The look in his eyes took some of the starch out of her spine and she
sighed as she leaned forward against him, her forehead resting against
his chest. "I don't know, R'enh. I don't see what you see. I see a
rounder face than I've ever had before, and loose skin around my
stomach, and things that weren't there before I had the twins."

"Your stomach shows that you created an amazing set of babies," he
pulled her into his arms and kissed the top of her head. "The marks
they left on you are hard won battle scars like threadscore. Do you
think less of me for my lost finger?"

"Of course I don't, but it's different for women, especially when
there's a ton of perky greenriders all over the place," she grumped.

He chuckled softly, they were both getting older, no longer so young
as they once were and with that came challenges. "If you don't
complain about my wrinkles," he said in an amused voice, "I won't
complain about yours. Besides, you've always had to fight off suitors,
we both have and you know it. Comes with the metallic lifemate."

That was true, although Saibra was still vain enough to want to be
desired physically without Chioneth being a part of the picture. "I
don't know how to stop," she admitted softly. "When I look in the
mirror...." Saibra shuddered. "And then the thought of food," it made
her nauseous just thinking about it.

"Talk to someone," he said softly. "I'm sure the mindhealers have seen
this sort of thing before. Just talk to them." He picked her up and
began to carry her toward their bed. "But later... right now, I have
plans..."

Saibra let out a little squeak of surprise as she was picked up so
easily. "Can we turn the lights off at least?" she asked.

"But why," he leered at her. "I like to look at you."

She laughed at his response, but her answer came out in an embarrassed
groan. "Because I don't like looking at me."

"Then look at me," he said and stood to remove his clothing. Slowly...
with a grin.

Now that was not a problem, Saibra thought, her blue eyes flying back
open as the first expanse of R'enh's skin began to show. Even though
her fingers trembled slightly, she found herself quickly shedding her
scarf, coat, and shirt so that she could be skin to skin with her
handsome weyrmate.
