Date: month 12, day 22 of Turn 9
Notes: Mentioned: R'enh, Erivana
Even though R'enh had said he loved her, and had _made_ love to her afterwards, Saibra could not unhear the things that he had said to her. "Flat," he had said that word multiple times, she thought, running her hands over her backside. Her cheeks flushed when she remembered the way he had put his hands on her breasts and asked where they had gone. A very rational side of herself knew that her weyrmate was simply trying to drive home a point, she knew he loved her, had he not proved it time and time again? Even going so far as to move to Dragonsfall to be with her and their children?
But she couldn't let the thoughts go. Saibra chewed on her thumbnail as she stared into her mirror, studying her appearance critically. She was still attractive, wasn't she? She had lost some of the baby weight, and while R'enh said she was too thin, she thought she could finally see some progress- light at the end of the tunnel. She wanted, no needed, to still feel desirable. R'enh loved her, she thought, he was obligated to desire her, but what about others? There had been a time when it was easy for her to turn a man's head.
The irrational thoughts continued to swirl about in her head as she slipped a robe over her nude body and then put a coat on top of that.

K'yne stood in the middle of his weyr, the one that he now shared with Erivana, perplexed as to what had happened to his edge beveler. He had been working on a custom pair of riding straps as a gift for J'ackt on his weyrmating, since his son had been kind enough to invite him to the holder reception that he had secretly planned for his greenrider weyrmate, but where he had placed the tool he could not remember.
Hearing footsteps, he did not look up but said, "Have you seen my edge beveler? Its sort of a silver tool with a round handle."
"K'yne."
The brownrider's head snapped up in surprise. "Saibra?" He had thought the footsteps came from Erivana.
There was a look in Saibra's blue eyes that K'yne could not place, and one of his golden eyebrows arched upward as she shed her coat.
Was he dreaming? he wondered.
Saibra launched herself at K'yne, her lips smashing into his as her arms encircled his neck.
**Whoa!** K'yne thought in surprise, automatically returning the kiss, body on autopilot at he caught her against him. He wasn't sure what was happening. He had waited for most of his adult life for Saibra to come to him, and he had finally realized that it would never happen, and now here she was?
One of his hands slid under the robe she was wearing.
"Wait... Are you naked under there?" he gasped in surprise.
"Yes, now shut up," she said, attacking his neck with her mouth.
The creaking of a door in the weyr snapped K'yne back into reality as warning bells went off in his brain.
"Whoa, whoa," he said, grabbing Saibra's wrists and breaking her hold on him as he pulled back from her. She continued to struggle against him, confusing him even more. "Saibra, stop." K'yne said and this time he firmly set her aside, keeping an arms-length between them.
"What are you doing?" he asked.
"What does it look like?" she demanded, her eyes wild.
K'yne blinked at her. "I'm not going down this road again, Saibra. We did this right after K'fel's death and you hated for me for Turns for that. I know you love R'enh, you have made it quite clear you don't want anyone else. So why are you here?"
Tears filled her eyes.
The brownrider studied her, the way one of her collarbones protuded sharply, visible with the robe hanging partially open.
"Faranth, Saibra, what has happened to you?" K'yne took in her more pronounced jawline and the bones of her wrists. How had he not noticed she had lost so much weight? He had been busy with Erivana, that's was why.
"Not you, too," Saibra cried. "Don't say it."
K'yne's jaw tensed. "What are you doing here? What are you doing to yourself? Does R'enh know?"
Saibra's teeth clenched together. "Are you saying you don't want me?"
The brownrider's mouth fell open. Was she really asking him that? After all these Turns? She was asking him _now_, when he was living with the woman who was pregnant with his child?
"Saibra, this isn't about me wanting you, and you know that, but we both know this isn't a good idea. You will regret it... and so will I," he added, thinking of Erivana. They didn't have any sort of exclusive agreement, but it felt wrong, nonetheless.
Saibra stiffly wrapped her robe tighter around her thin frame and pulled her coat back on.
"Please see a mindhealer, Saibra, before it gets worse." K'yne said, his tone softer.
"That's what R'enh said too," she spat, irritated.
"Listen to your weyrmate, he's right."
Saibra's eyes rose to meet his, hurt evident in them. "I hate you, K'yne." She said before storming out of the weyr.
"Well, what's new?" he muttered, cursing as he turned back and shoved his fingers through his hair.
