"Well, as you requested, I brought pickles and redfruit jam," Saibra
said, holding up the closed basket with a wrinkle of her nose.
"Although I cannot imagine how you can eat this."

Lanniya looked up and rose, eagerly taking the basket out of Saibra's
hands. "K'ale doesn't like toy watch me eating anymore either, but
sweet and sour's actually pretty yummy." She plopped back in the
chair, opening one jar, then another. With a grin, she pulled out
a pickle and dipped it generously into the jam jar.

The Weyrwoman wrinkled her nose as she observed the hearty eating.
"Well, as long as it makes you happy, that's all that matters, I
suppose. I'll be interested to see what you think of pickles and jam
after the baby is born."

Lanniya shrugged, taking a bite of jam covered pickle. She swallowed,
then dabbed more jam on the pickle. "Don't know. Never tried it
before I started wanting it. It's not bad at all. You should try it."
She looked up at Saibra and rolled her head. "What did you crave?"

"Nothing unusual," Saibra said as she took a seat. "I just craved
_more_, more of _everything_. I could finish my plate and R'enh's too
on most evenings."

Lanniya looked down at her belly. She'd not gained much weight, which
the Healers had soundly scolded her over, but she wasn't carrying
twins like Saibra had. "You were carrying two. Makes sense. One
night, I wanted melons with gravy so bad that I woke K'ale up and got
me a melon from Dolphins Cove. You should have seen his face when I
poured gravy all over the melon. "

"I did it with Kaibren and Saidrene as well," Saibra waggled her
eyebrows. "Mhm, gravy and melon, interesting combination. How is
K'ale? And F'lin? Ever patch things up there?"

"K'ale's been amazing. He rubs my feet and my back and really does
anything I ask him to. " Lanniya grinned. "I try to use that power for
good, but it's so tempting." She took another bite of pickle.
"F'lin's finally come around, especially since Seneth caught a gold.
I don't think it's really hit him yet. He saw the baby move and
thought it was weird." She shrugged a little. "I'm not really sure
he's wanting to be a father yet, I guess. He's got other priorities."

"I suppose that makes it easier for you and K'ale then?"

"I guess. We haven't really talked much about that. R'enh's been
really nice too. He checks up on me and stuff, but doesn't intrude
or anything. The pregnancy's actually been pretty easy on me, so I
think that's been really helpful more than anything. "

"You really have a great group of men that might have sired your babe.
It will grow up extremely loved." Saibra thought that was one of the
best parts of Weyrlife, the ability to fluidly share families.

Lanniya laughed. "I wasn't expecting a _group_. But it's worked out so
far. I don't know if it might be confusing later for the baby, but I
hope not." She finished her pickle, but promptly pulled out another
one. "How's things going for you? You're looking much better lately. "

"Thank you, I am feeling a bit more like myself lately. I have J'lor
to thank for that. R'enh's been attending with me some as well." She
could at least look in a mirror now at her reflection and not feel the
urge to throw up.

"Good. I'm glad he's helping. I could tell R'enh was really worried.
Are toy getting back to normal with... other things too?" Lanniya
cleared her throat, then grinned. "I mean, are you finally getting
laid?"

Saibra laughed at the question. "Well, I was getting laid some before,
but now there's no talk of how bony am I. Apparently R'enh likes to
have things to hold in his hands," she winked.

Lanniya laughed and looked down at herself, "Well, there's a little
more of me to hold, honestly, but not that much more. I'm all
belly. And I'm starting to waddle now. K'ale said it was cute, so I
waited until he was sleeping and let my feet get cold. " Her grin was
wide. "Right on his bare butt. It was awesome. "

"Ah yes, the waddle. I don't miss that at all. It's especially a pain,
literally, in that last sevenday or so before the baby comes."

"So you think you'll every have any more?" Lanniya slathered the
pickle she held in her hand with more jam. "I think I'll wait a while.
I miss flying, you know. And I know it leaves you without much help."

"I think I may be done with babies after this last go round," Saibra
wasn't sure if she could mentally take the after effects. "I'm not
ruling it out but I won't be actively seeking it the way we did this
time with the twins."

"I think K'ale wants one he's sure is his. I can't really blame him. I
know he's not always with me and I can't complain about it since I
have F'lin, so he could have that with someone else too." She frowned
a little, not quite sure how she felt about that. "As long as he's
home with me at night."

"Being polyamorous gets tricky, doesn't it?" Saibra said from her own
past experiences.

Lanniya paused, the pickle halfway to her mouth, a slight frown on her
face. "I don't know what that word means."

"Multiple lovers," Saibra supplied.

"Oh." She took a bite of her pickle, then nodded. "Well, I've only had
two outside of flights. They don't count cause I haven't slept with
R'enh or Y'gel outside of a flightroom. I mean, I've thought about it,
just cause sometimes I get curious. And F'lin is busy most of the
time, so it's only once in a while. So mostly, it's just K'ale."

"But you and K'ale have an open relationship, right? You can sleep
with someone else if you like and he can too?"

"Well..." Lanniya paused, frowning. "I wouldn't go that far. I mean,
all he asks is that if I'm going to, to tell him, but I really think
he wouldn't like it too much if it was anyone else but F'lin to be
honest. I really don't ask what he does if he's not with me though.
He's weyrbred, so he's used to that sort of thing." She shrugged. "I
don't really think about it much. And honestly, like I've told you
before, no one else here seems that interested." She shrugged,
chomping on the pickle.

"Yes, that whole, 'bronzeriders being obsessed with goldriders' thing
doesn't really apply here at Dragonsfall," Saibra shrugged her
shoulders. "I'm not sure why."

Lanniya frowned. "Well, it's not like I'm completely alluring right
now or anything. I'm getting huge. But you're gorgeous. It doesn't
make sense to me. " She sat up a little bit. "I gotta admit, I miss
the attention that I got at Dolphins Cove."

"I do, too, if I'm honest." Saibra said, sneaking out to take one of
the pickles, although she bypassed the jam.

Lanniya eyed Saibra as she took a pickle, but tilted the jar in her
direction. "Just a whistle or some flirting would be nice, you know?
I think the cold has chilled their blood a bit too much." Her eyes
suddenly glinted. "I know. After the baby's born, you and I need to
get into some bikinis and flounce around the summer lake. "

Saibra laughed at the idea, just imagining it. "You know, the great
part about being Senior Weyrwoman was supposed to be bronzeriders
vying for your affections for the shot at being Weyrleader. What
happened to that?"

"Maybe you intimidate them?" Lanniya debated on taking another pickle.
"Or, I mean, it's pretty clear that you and R'enh are only with each
other, so maybe they assume that he's more likely to catch next time."

"Hm, I guess it will be interesting to see. Chioneth is quite
satisfied with Erdenth, and if I'm honest, I am quite satisfied with
K'reyel as well. G'nir and I never had a good relationship, but with
K'reyel.... It's different."

"G'nir seems so...serious all the time." Lanniya admitted. "I don't
think I've ever seen him really laugh, you know? But you know what?
He's seeing _Rorela_ of all people. She's so...out there and he's not.
K'reyel seems nice though. I've never really talked with him much."

"G'nir was not good at communicating, and he was always so closed off.
K'reyel is very easy to talk to and even if I don't agree with his
decision, I know that he will at least hear me out." The death of the
dragonet at Erdenth and Chioneth's last hatching had also brought them
closer.

"Well, when Chioneth rises again, he could catch and be Weyrleader
again, you know." Lanniya pointed out. "But it helps if Chioneth shows
a preference. Anaeryth hasn't risen enough to really show any."

"Chioneth's chosen Erdenth twice now. I found it written on a dusty
old hide once in the archives, and I've heard old timers say it, that
sometimes the general opinion of the Weyr, who they want as
Weyrleader, gives that man's bronze an edge in the flight. Who knows,
but cross your fingers that is never G'nir," Saibra wrinkled her nose.
"K'reyel and R'enh are certainly at the top of my list. What about
you? Imagine that you were Sr Weyrwoman. Who would you want?"

Lanniya frowned. "I wish it could be K'ale. I read in my studies that
in the old times, a Weyrwoman and Weyrleader would share a weyr and a
bed with each other. I think it wouldn't be too bad to do that. But
K'ale can't be a Weyrleader." She sighed, tugging at her ear as she
thought. "I don't know that I could pick anyone here. I'd probably
throw the flights open each time. I want F'lin to catch Anaeryth, at
least once." Her eyes went distant at the thought. "I'd love to see
what he'd be like during a mating flight." She grinned. "My first one
was with Y'gel." She glanced at Saibra and her grin widened as she
held up her hands to show a massive size. "Ouch, but a good ouch."

Saibra laughed. "My first flight was won by K'fel, Saidrene and
Kaibren's father. He was a brownrider. It was... fantastic, as corny
as that sounds." She still remembered the cocksure grin that had been
on his face as they'd come out of the foggy haze of flight lust. "I
would love to share that kind of experience with R'enh but.... I don't
know, I'm afraid what kind of strain being Weyrwoman and Weyrleader
would put on us being weyrmates. I already have a hard time turning
off the 'Weyrwoman' sometimes."

"I don't have that problem." Lanniya grinned and winked. "But, I can
tell you that you're missing out. R'enh is..."She waggled her brows
then immediately ducked, expecting chunks of pickle to be thrown at
her.

Saibra did throw a pickle chunk, but not for the reason Lanniya
assumed. "Well? Don't stop, tell me!"

Lanniya giggled. "Wild. Really wild. He's so gentlemanly you wouldn't
think that the man has all that fire in him. I love flights...I really
do. It's like the men just can't help themselves and I love that they
lose control. R'enh, he...well, I didn't know my body could bend that
way and I was so _sore_ after. But Faranth, I liked it." Then she
pouted. "Why can't it be like that all the time?"

"I'm glad it's not like that all the time," Saibra confessed. "I know
that sounds weird, and at one time I thought the way you did, but... I
don't know. A flight is forced lust, which at the time I didn't mind,
but now there's something so much sexier for me to see that lust there
because it's genuine. The kisses, the touches, everything is
purposeful."

"I like the wildness." Lanniya admitted. "I have to be in control
_all_ the time otherwise I have voices constantly in my head. It's
nice not to have to be in control and have that take over. If K'ale
came in all lusty and just couldn't help himself but toss me on the
bed and go wild, I'd like it."

"I had not even considered that, the voices, that is. Have you ever
been in the middle of sex and had some random dragon's conversation
come busting in?" Saibra asked.

Lanniya groaned and nodded. "All the time. Of course, I don't tell
K'ale about it or even F'lin, but losing myself completely is next to
impossible because if I do, suddenly I'm listening to a green chatter
up a male or some brown scold his rider for being irresponsible or
even worse, talk about their meals and how crunchy they are. THEN, if
that doesn't happen, then I'm broadcasting what I'm doing to them and
then I've got an audience of very interested dragons who actually
begin to critique. Especially the greens. During a goldflight, all I
do is _feel_. "

"I had never thought about that, Lanniya. What a pain! And if you were
a greenrider you would get to enjoy that kind of focus once a quarter,
instead of just once a Turn. Although, I'm sure Anaeryth is worth it,"
she grinned.

"Of course she is. But you know, if I'm out of the Weyr, away from
dragons, I can let go, but that hasn't happened except maybe once
because I've got responsibilities and all. And even then, scheduling
a time to go is kind of... well, it's not spontaneous. I miss being
spontaneous sometimes." She rubbed her belly. "But the last time I
was really spontaneous, Rhosyn grounded me and then I was
transferred."

"Yes, well, being spontaneous and traveling /between/ times might be a
bit too spontaneous," Saibra held up her fingers. "Just a smidge." She
had no comment on Rhosyn, because she had never cared for the woman
much. Rhosyn had always been too possessive of R'enh's 'friendship'
for Saibra's liking. "Perhaps after the baby is born you can put some
more spontaneity back into your life."

"It was worth it and I'll never believe otherwise." Lanniya sighed.
"Maybe. Or I'll just be too busy to think about it."

"Once the baby starts going to the creche some, you'll have time to
think about it, trust me." Saibra grinned. "And K'ale will
_definitely_ be thinking about it. Those six sevendays of healing and
no sex can seem like a long time to some men."

Lanniya hadn't even thought of that and her mouth parted in dismay.
"Six sevendays with nothing? Shards, I'm jumping him every time he
breathes! A month and a half?" She paused, then her eyes narrowed and
a slow smile spread over her face as a wicked glint gleamed in her
eyes. "Six seven days. Maybe I'll get my wild after all."

"Oh, you'll get your wild, alright, and after you do... I want to hear
all about it!" Saibra raised her pickle in toast.
