Yriadha

Yriadha

The bustle of the market allowed her to slip through the crowd, only a
few moving aside for her once they pulled away from the distractions
of the bartering and negotiating. Yriadha moved briskly, only speaking
to a few passersby. One made her pause and she listened, one brow
arched as the young man quietly directed her to a merchant's dwelling.
A slipped 32nd of mark into a hand and the young man was off with a
grin.

Yriadha stepped into the dwelling after a brief knock. Ifgar rose from
the table to meet her. "Headwoman, it's a pleasure."

"Yes, thank you for your procurement, Ifgar." She handed him a mark,
then another for good measure. "For your discretion."

Ifgar nodded, pocketing the marks swiftly. "We're arranging the
purchase of fabrics, Headwoman."

"Exactly. Thank you, Ifgar. Have you heard when it'll be done? I
purchased them two months ago and haven't heard anything"

"Another couple of sevendays, Headwoman. At most. I can arrange
delivery immediately after I get word."

"No, I'll go." She frowned to herself as she tapped a finger idly on
the table, thinking. "I can arrange to be absent long enough to take
care of it myself. "

"I'll let them know, of course." Ifgar bowed.

She gave a brief smile. "Thank you. Is he here?"

"He's in the back." He gestured with a thumb behind him at the door.
"Came in last night."

Yriadha nodded, stepping into the room. The Captain of the Flying
Packtail, a slim but finely muscled man about her own age, rose to
greet her. "Headwoman, why here? We could have met on the Packtail and
it would have been far more comfortable."

She waved a hand. "I prefer discretion, Captain Dormin. Have you
thought about my request?"

He nodded. "Indeed. It can be arranged quite easily. Mind you, there's
not going to be much to it, but it'll have what you need, provided you
can pay."

"All I need is privacy." She dipped into her pouch and handed over
marks. "As agreed."

Dormin took the marks and slipped them into his own pouch. "It'll be
ready. When do you need it?"

Her mouth pursed. "Two, perhaps three sevendays."

"It'll be ready for you then. Will you need assistance?"

"No. Thank you for your help, Captain. It is very appreciated." She
offered her hand.

Dormin took it, then bent to kiss her knuckles lightly, then
straightened. "Tell me, Headwoman, if you don't mind, why go to all
this trouble? It would have been easy to request it through the
Steward or the Lord Holder himself."

She removed her hand from his and arched a brow, offering a faint
smile. "Sometimes, it is necessary to do things yourself."

He considered that, then shrugged in acknowledgment. "I suppose that's
true enough." He picked up his hat from the table and paused, blue
eyes flicking over her with apparent interest. "Well, if you ever need
anything more, send word." He offered a rakish grin. "I'll be happy to
assist you in anything you need."

A glimmer of a smile curled her lips. "I'll be sure to keep that in
mind. Thank you, Captain Dormin."
