Description: Yriadha takes a little leave of absence
Location: Sunstone Seahold
Date: month 2, day 8 of Turn 10
Notes: Mentioned: Bryvin, Brina, Wirnan
Yriadha stared at Pifer, watching calmly as the man blustered . "You
can't just leave unexpectedly, Headwoman. Lord Bryvin and Wirnan are
away on an over night inspection and we have the fostered ladies to
care for. Lady Brina can't do all of it. And the staff..."
"Pifer," she interrupted smoothly, "look at your calendar." It had
been easy enough forging his simple block letters on the calendar he
kept. "If you'll look, you'll see that this was arranged two months
ago." She watched as Pifer opened his book and then stared at the
writing. "See?"
"But...I don't remember..."
"That isn't my problem, Pifer. My plans will not be changed simply
because you failed to check your calendar for this month. Really. It's
supposed to be checked at least weekly."
"But Lord Bryvin will..."
"It isn't my fault that you failed to keep him apprised of the
situation, Pifer. You certainly should have. As for my staff, they are
well trained, already have menus planned, and can function for a
sevenday or so without me. They know my expectations. Lady Brina can
certainly handle the ladies for a small amount of time."
"But..."
"I am sure you will inform Lord Bryvin the moment he returns." She
interrupted again. Now, if you will excuse me, I am leaving." She spun
on her heel, hiding the slight smirk on her lips as she strode out of
Pifer's tiny corner office. The man was inept and far too officious,
which made it easy to use him as a fool.
About a candlemark later, she finished carefully folding clothes for
Yavin into a pack. "Get your boots, Yavin."
"Ti-ti, where we goin?" Yavin pulled on his boots, the tip of his
tongue thrust out of his lips as he shoved his feet into the heel.
"On an adventure." She smiled down at her son, stroking his hair back
from his brow as he rose. "An exciting adventure. Ready?" Everything
that she'd privately arranged would be falling into place and she had
to be there on time for the beginning of it.
"Yeah!" He hopped on his toes and took her hand.
She shouldered the pack and locked her apartments behind her firmly,
leading Yavin outside to where their transport was waiting. Yavin saw
the blue dragon and his mouth opened in surprise and delight.
"Draggie!" He waved wildly and had to be restrained before charging
towards the blue.
Yriadha couldn't resist a smile at his excitement. "Yes, sweet. A
dragon. You're going to get to fly today, but you'll have to hold on."
"Ride!" He cheered and bounced in her grip, eager to meet the blue and
begin an adventure. A mark was exchanged and the young rider assisted
Yriadha with strapping in the wiggling, excited child. Yavin squealed
with delight as the dragon leaped into the air, then disappeared
/between/.
