Daigoro leaned back against the sacks of hopes with little scrapes of paper scattered around him. "Here's another list, Daigoro," Journeyman Kosak said as he handed him a few more scraps of hide and paper.
"Thanks," the Hallsecond said absently as he took them and set them down on the pile with the rest. "It will take me turns catalogue all our remaining stock."
Kosak smiled. "Well, I have a little something for you that might make the work go a bit easier." He held out a rolled piece of paper to the brewer. "A little green came flying around the mess tent looking for scraps. This was tied to her. I'm sorry, I had to open it to find out who it was actually meant for." The journeyman gave him a knowing smile. "Don't worry, I brought it right to you."
"Ah, thank you," Daigoro said with a slight blush. He couldn't help the sheepish smile. It was from Cinale, he was sure. "Make sure and give her some good scraps will you?"
"Of course, sir. And don't worry. I won't say a word," Kosak nodded with a grin and left the Master to read his letter.
Daigoro set his list aside and with a soft smile opened up the letter and began to read:

My hon, It finally seems as though we're all starting to settle in here, slowly but surely. It's truly amazing what a few days of productivity will do to help a person in mourning. By helping others, they can't close in on themselves and withdraw from the world. And this is helping my girls. They are beginning to come out of their shells a little more with each passing day, reaching out to others beyond our circle. I see it, Daigoro, and it feels as though this weight of...anxiety for them is slowly starting to lift from my shoulders. I even caught a couple of them in the kitchens yesterday huddled together, whispering and even giggling - no doubt gossiping. Like they used to. It was like being back home again, and I couldn't help but smile at them when I scolded them, telling them that they should wait until their break to hang about. And, like the young imps they are, they smiled _back_ at me, love. Truly smiled.
I...I know I still refer to Amythest Cliff as home, even though I know that home now is Amber Hills. But I don't think that this place will truly be my home until you are here with me, love. You are my heart, and wherever you are, my home is. I love you, and I'm thinking of you. Always thinking of you.

"You are my heart, and wherever you are, my home is..." Daigoro repeated silently to himself. He cleared his throat as he blinked back the slight mist forming in front of his eyes and looked around the room self-consciously, though he knew he was completely alone. "Shards woman, what are you trying to do to me," he muttered gruffly as he reached for his pencil and turned the page over. He took a moment to think carefully of his reply.

My Dear Beauty, I'm happy to hear that you are settling in well, and the girls as well. I knew they would be all right given a little time and a little loving understanding. You have a healing way about you, you know. I'm not at all surprised that life is returning to normal for you, and I hope soon I can come and sit in your kitchen and laugh with you and your girls again.
Things are progressing here, slowly, but surely. I am cataloging all the stock we have left. I am surprised so much of it has survived. I think Fielton will be happy to see the list. It should be enough to hold us over until our new vintage can be readied. Living at Amber Hills will give us brewers a great boost in our craft as well. Did you know all of our hopps we use for our brewing came from there. I think we will be able to make several fine brews to make up some of our loses while the grapes are growing. Brewing takes a lot less time, you know, and more of it can be produced in a turn. There are several different kinds of brews we can make, and it's about time we branched out a bit. I may be a Hallsecond, but I suppose I will always be a brewer at heart.
Yes, love, I think Amber Hills will become a fine home for us. Lots of fields and open spaces, beautiful hills, rivers. It will be a wonderful place to raise a family, I think. They have great Gathers there, I remember. I came for a few with brews to sell long ago. They have fine runner races. They're very exciting, and you can even make a wager on which one you think will win. It's great fun. We will have to do that together at the next Gather.
I've been thinking. What do you think about getting married on Turn Day's Eve? There's always a celebration then, and it would be the beautiful spring wedding you and I talked about long ago. I know it's still a couple months away, and Faranth knows I cannot wait until the day I can call you my wife. But I can see it now - everyone in their Gather best, a festive mood with fine food and drink, and runner races. Everyone Gathered around with a smile on their faces, for there are no frowns on Turn Day, are there. I can't think of a more perfect way to wake up in a new Turn with you beside to share the moment. Anyway, maybe I'm just being a silly old brewer, but that's what I'm thinking.
I love you Cinale with all my heart, and I count the minutes until I can look into your smiling eyes. I am always dreaming of that moment. I hope it will be soon.
With all my love, Daigoro

**A Turnover wedding....** Faranth, what a marvelous idea!
Unable to keep the excited smile from her face, Cinale leaned back in her chair, idly caressing bronze Wort - who was contentedly chewing on a treat
- as her thoughts drifted to the future.
They would have to wait a while yet, but it would be worth it, she thought, to celebrate on Turnover. Cinale could picture it just as vividly as Daigoro wrote it: people smiling, laughing, eating, drinking, dancing, avidly watching the races... Putting all their cares aside to just enjoy and celebrate life.
It would be a gorgeous spring day, and she could just see everyone decked in wreathes of flowers...including her. Cinale's smile grew. Oh yes; but her flower garlands would be white. Perhaps with a few rosebuds tucked here and there...
She could hardly wait.
