Write them in a post, email me, or DM your suggestions for Pernese hot dog names by the end of this RL month! I'll put a poll up for Triad members to vote on, and the winner will be announced in m2 in-game.
Oselle sat back at her desk and re-read the note she'd drafted:
'Month's End Contest: Name that Dish!
Try the sausage, suggest a name. Please put your suggestions into the box by the last day of the month.
ABSOLUTELY NO RUDE NAMES. There are CHILDREN HERE.
The Weyr will vote on the name we prefer next month. The person who suggests the winning name will win a PRIZE.'
She sighed. Dragonriders would be dragonriders and that box would be stuffed full of all sorts of lewd suggestions by the end of the first day. Mentally she ran through the list of her assistants and decided that Herg was the unlucky soul who would sort through the names to weed out the rude ones. He had the sense of humor for it.
The Headwoman read the draft notice through again, then nodded to herself and set it aside on her desk to let the ink dry. Herg would sort through the names, she could bring her draft to the Archives in the morning for a Harper make copies and put them up around the Dining Cavern, she'd have to plan an announcement dinner - decorations, pomp, ceremony and all that - and then there was the matter of the prize...
...what on Pern was a good prize for naming a meat dish?! A silly little contest like this was good for morale but it created a lot more work than the Weyrwoman realized. **At least Saibra has to actually announce the name,** she thought. **I don't think I could do it without laughing.**
There had to be something in the storerooms she could repurpose as a prize. Or perhaps she could have one of the Weyr's Crafters make something. A glimmer of an idea began to form. This contest was ridiculous, so perhaps it needed a ridiculous prize...
A smile as sly as a half-moon curved her lips as she rose, wiped the ink from her fingers, and left her office for the night. She'd have a good excuse to talk to the Weyr's Crafters in the morning...
