Description: Kamalia and Alaudath decide on their entry in the competition

Date: month 1, day 18 of Turn 12
The day was cloudy but not too cold as Kamalia finished getting cleaned up after an uneventful sweepride. Even though she and Alaudath had not been grounded for long, she still felt a rush of excitement every time they flew together. She had not realized how much flying, and even fighting Thread, had become practically routine. Their minor Threadscores had been a reminder of just how special, and how dangerous, being a dragonrider during a Pass was. She had a new appreciation for life that she hoped did not fade any time soon.
Although it was a bit early for dinner, Kamalia was hungry, so she headed down to the dining cavern. When she arrived, she paused to read the sausage naming contest notice that had recently appeared and smiled. **Want to help me name a sausage?**
}:What?:{ Alaudath had just settled herself in one of her favorite sunning spots, even though there wasn't much sun.
The greenrider explained the contest. Maybe her excitement bled over into her lifemate, or maybe Alaudath's competitive streak was coming out, but the green agreed to help Kamalia decide what her submission would be.
**Ok, here we go.** Kamalia arrived where Alaudath was waiting in the Weyrbowl. The plate in her right hand had four of the new sausages: two with bread. There were also some toppings on the side. She crossed her legs in front of her green and took two of the sausages in her hand.
}:They're interesting looking.:{ Alaudath said. She took a sniff. }:Not a lot of smell. Just slightly meaty.:{ Then she ate them, trying to make them last for a few moments so she could get a good taste. }:They're smooth. Mushy.:{
Kamalia tried a bite of just the meat, then the meat with the bread, and then with each of the toppings. She quickly decided she liked it with the bread and the red sauce, with just a touch of the mustard to give it an extra punch of flavor.
**Ok, what do we think?**
}:Smooth sausage? Mushy tube? It doesn't have a lot of taste. Meaty tube?:{
**Those are all descriptive, but aren't very catchy. It would be great to think of something that rhymes.** Kamalia sat, trying to come up with something. But after a minute, the only thing she could think of was "Round pound," which didn't make much sense. **What about something like party sausage? That's festive.**
}:It's not just for parties though:{ Alaudath commented.
**True. Smooth sausage sandwich?** She liked the alliteration but wished she could think of something more fun.
Alaudath was starting to lose interest. }:It should be something that's easy to remember. I'm going to go get some real food.:{ And with that, she headed to the feeding pens.
Kamalia finished the meat and bread, then sat thinking for a minute. Finally, she stood and headed back to the dining cavern to submit her suggestion: smooth sausage. She likely wouldn't win, but hoped she would hear about all the other suggestions. There were probably some fun ones.
