Description: An'dr comes to congratulate Ava.
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 11, day 10 of Turn 3

"Ava! Congratulations!" A look of happiness spread of the young bluerider's face as he greeted the new greenrider. "I bet she's a little beauty."

"Hi, An'dr! Yes, she is, she has such a marvelous, dark shade. Have you seen her?" Ava replied with an equally happy grin.

"Not yet, not yet," he said stumbling over his words slightly.

"Well, then you must see her..." her eyes glazed over for a moment. "Except she's sleeping just now."

"They do that a lot at first," he said matter of factly. "When she's older, she'll stay awake longer."

"Do they also stop eating so much? When she isn't sleeping, she's hungry," Ava asked and laughed.

"Eventually, and she'll learn to hunt and kill for herself. That's nowhere near as messy as having to butcher meat for her." An'dr grinned, while he might not have had to do that for Pluserth any more, in his role with the weyrlingstaff he'd been doing that for the first meals.

"Luckily, I don't get squirmy," Ava grinned. "I've done enough cooking to get used to raw meat, although the butchering and cutting the carcass used to be men's job back in my dad's cothold."

"Here it's a job for a rider."

"My father wouldn't accept half of the things I'm doing as rider," Ava shrugged. "But then, he is gender-biased and just generally biased and unpleasant."

"You don't have to worry about that here, all you need to know is that she found you, and that means whatever you do for her is right."

Ava nodded seriously, but then a wide smile spread back to her face. "She's so wonderful! Bit fussy but wonderful."

"They all seem to be like that at first. But on the other hand it might just be her personality coming through."

"I think it's her personality. She's a drama queen. You should have seen the scene she arranged when I was having a little hangover the day after hatching," Ava rolled her eyes. "You would think I was dying or something."
She was cencoring the events a bit.

"She might grow out of it, like a toddler does."

"I hope so. Otherwise I'll spend half of the time soothing her down," Ava giggled.

"How are classes going?" he asked.

"Well," Ava replied and tucked her arm to the crook of his elbow. That wasn't a preach of weyrlingban.

He enjoyed the contact, even though he knew well enough that it was all the touch that was allowed for the moment. Mindath was just too young to understand more. "Want to go get some dinner?"

"Sure. Maybe this time I can actually sit down and eat. Lately, feels like be eating in a run. Dragonets really keep you busy. Was Pluserth that bad too?"

"Yes, but if she's asleep, you might get a candlemark of peace."

"Hope so. Luckily, this phase doesn't last long, or so they keep telling us," Ava said.

"She'll be all grown up before you know it."

"She does grow up faster than a human baby. I have bit of experience, tending my little siblings."

"She probably acts older than my baby brother, and he's eleven turns old.."

"Oh, I don't know about that, it's more like five turns old."

"You haven't met my brother," retorted An'dr.

"No, I haven't," Ava admitted.

"Maybe one day you will."

"Maybe," Ava said and shrugged a bit.

"Anyway, you have training to get through first."

"Yes, and it's harder than I was expecting," Ava said.

"You'll get there, she'd not have chosen you otherwise."
