It had been months since he'd last been able to stay more than a day
in one town. But, this voyage had been highly profitable for him and
his crew. They were finally home and he was finally going to marry his
Lady.

And there she was, standing on the steps of the main hold with her
brother. His eyes almost glowed with happiness as he saw her waiting
for him.

One of his crew followed him carrying a chest which he had placed at
Bryvin's feet. "My Lord," he bowed his head and dragged his eyes from
Brina to her brother. "Your share of this voyage."

"Thank you Captain," he said, raising a brow as he smiled. He looked
at Wirnan who would secure the box for their review in the near
future.

"Captain." Wirnan nodded as he took the box and then stepped aside again.

"Welcome back to Sunstone, Captain." Only the color in Brina's cheeks
hinted at her hasty return to the Hold after the sighting of the Sun's
Glory, but the warmth in her voice overcame the formality of her words
as she stepped forward. "We're glad to see you safely returned to port."

"Shall we go in," Bryvin swept a hand toward the doors and turned to
lead the way inside. "Yriadha has provided some refreshments."

"Of course," Trayger's eyes battled his will and dipped to sweep over
the woman who had stolen his heart the moment her brother turned away.
Then he regained control and stepped up to offer his arm to Lady
Brina. "My Lady," he murmured.

Brina took his arm and they followed Bryvin inside. As a betrothed
couple, soon to be married, she felt it wouldn't be improper to stand a
little closer, or to speak in a low voice. "I missed you."

Trayger's eyes crinkled slightly and he switched his hat to his other
hand so he could touch the fingers gripping his arm. He rubbed her
hand with his thumb. "I missed you too," he said.

Wirnan nodded to Bryvin and disappeared with the box up to the Lord's
office. He would rejoin them for refreshments soon enough.

Bryvin led them into his private dining chamber and the smaller table
set nicely with an array of food and drink. He glimpsed Yriadha as she
flitted out a side door and couldn't help the slight smile that curved
his lips. "So," he turned and caught Trayger's look at his sister.
"Have you decided on a date to settle here more permanently?"

"Yes sir," Trayger nodded. "I've purchased one of the large homes
right next to the main Hold. I believe it was called Suntell Court and
was once occupied by Lord Morin."

"And I've been planning the furnishings," Brina said, with the
mischievous smile she rarely showed outside their private rooms. "It
helps to have such good contacts with the sea crafters and traders. Now
you're back we'll have to look over it properly."

Both men grinned at Brina.

"Yes we will," Trayger agreed.

"And what about your next voyage? When will you be leaving," Bryvin
asked with a lifted brow.

"As for long voyages, not for a while," Brina said firmly. She didn't
want to be parted from her future husband so soon. "But..." Her cheeks
colored. "There has been talk of a honeymoon trip."

"My first mate will take Sun's Glory out once she's resupplied for a
short voyage to Coral Bay and back. I am hoping," he reached for
Brina's hand. "That our honeymoon trip will be the next voyage if that
meets with your approval." He looked down into her eyes.

"It does. I've been looking forward to getting to know the Sun's Glory
better," Brina replied, teasing. She heard the door open and glanced
over her shoulder to see the Steward returning. "Oh, Wirnan - come and
join us. Captain Trayger was just telling us he plans to send his ship
to Coral Bay."

"As long as your Ship doesn't lose any income while you take your
break," Bryvin nodded. "I'll agree to your plan."

"Thank you My Lord," Trayger bowed his head in acknowledgement.

"Ah, to Coral Bay." Wirnan nodded as he rejoined his cousins.
"Passengers, cargo? Both?"

"Both," Trayger nodded at the steward.

"Well then," Bryvin rubbed his hands together looking at Brina.
"You'll need to get to work with both Wirnan and Yriadha to plan your
event."

"I am at your service, of course." Wirnan smiled at Brina and nodded to
Trayger.

"Thank you. I'm sure I'll appreciate the help." Brina was aware that the
wedding of the Lord Holder's sister would be not only a celebration, but
an opportunity to show off the Hold's prosperity and for the guests to
trade, network and build alliances, and she was quite willing to assist.
"We'd better have a dance, at least, or else there'll be some very
disappointed young ladies."

"Yes... of course." Wirnan tried not to let his sadness show. He would
never get to dance with Suynie again. At least he had done what he
could to arrange for a happy future for Lucyien. Cuyrian had assured
him last they spoke that the boy was every bit the prodigy they had
hoped.

"Thank you My Lord," Trayger gave a head bow to Bryvin then turned to
lead Brina from the room. He fully intended to find a nice quiet place
to greet her properly.

Brina's expression was nothing less than perfectly proper, but for the
brightness in her eyes as she took her fiance's arm. "We'll meet soon to
talk through the arrangements with the Headwoman, Wirnan. Until then."
She nodded to Bryvin. "Brother." Then, with a lightness to her step that
belied her years, she left at Trayger's side.

Bryvin smiled after his sister. "She has contributed greatly to the
success of Sunstone. Make certain she gets whatever she wants Wirnan."

"Of course, milord," said the steward.
