Fianwyth's amusement crept into the edges of M'thos' periphery that evening, and it kept M'thos in a pleasant, lighthearted mood despite the extra workload of dragonriders on Search and the influx of starry-eyed weyrgirls.

}: You better come home. :{ She said when he finally asked. She didn't provide any context nor further help, and he couldn't help but grin with her as he tried to comprehend what his weyrmate was telling him.

"You said _what_ to Lemhask?" He asked.

“Well, I didn’t say it to him _directly_,” T’mhas clarified, thankful the beer was cold because his face wasn’t. “I… kinda just left it there for something to think about. They’re all thinkin’ about it all the time, anyway, aren’t they.”

"You 'left it there' for a fourteen turn old to think about? Tam, I have to do inspections in that barracks!" M'thos exclaimed. "And his little boyfriend is my boss' kid! What happened to just having a little talk with him?"

“Yeah, I did talk. We talked.” Tam shot a pointed look at prying whirling eyes out on their ledge - he already had to put up with Ghraisath’s mental enjoyment of this, and that was enough when staring M’thos in the face.

“I said it's normal to want to get close, but so’re mixed feelings. Bein’ horny. Bein’ nervous and all that. Its okay to wait, or not wanna do it at all. And that neither one _has_ to do anything if they don’t want to. But y’know, if they _did_ wanna get closer,” Faranth help him please not yet, “to take it slow and talk to each other.” He leaned back in his chair, trying not to smile or wince at the whole thing. “Think he asked a couple questions about that. It took a while.”

"Okay, sure. Why does your face look like a redfruit?" M'thos teased.

T'mhas wrinkled his nose at him, unimpressed, but feeling caught by his own doing. With a shrug, “Must be ‘cause my mate's finally home.”

"Mhm, that's what all my lovers say. Was it better or worse than 'oh yes I have two boyfriends' or 'ugh, I know, Dads, shards'."

“Where does ‘I wanna hold Tannock's hand and if that goes real well one day we'll kiss’ fall? Didn't realize he was such a romantic.” T'mhas shook his head, “And yeah, I guess I shouldn'ta said anything about handjobs first or last. But y'know things can move pretty fast between two guys. Didn't want Lem gettin’ blind sided… Ain't like I told him to start doling them out in the barracks, Mer.”

M'thos dropped into the seat next to his weyrmate, laughing. The absurdity of it all along with the very real ramifications that they were the reasons all their kids would need to see the mindhealers all bubbled out. "At least tell me you explained what those are!" He wheezed, "And he doesn't think that's some slang for holding hands."

“Trust me, he caught my meanin’,” T’mhas half groaned, half laughed, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Shoulda seen his face, Merry. But at least Lem will listen and ask questions if he’s not sure of somethin’. Not like some.” He took a sip of beer, the redness in his face receding a little now that it was all out in the open. “Faranth, it was still better than the talk Hastam and I got from my father.”

The memory of the story only made M'thos laugh harder. "And then his face when Vare was what, five? Telling him that Fianwyth hadn't been oiled that day." He put his head in his hands. "It's only a matter of time before T'lonas or K'yne hear some out of pocket nonsense from these kids."

T’mhas nearly spit his beer out at that reference and thumped his chest _hard_ so he could actually breathe again. “Looked like he went /between/ right in his chair.” He shook his head. “Ah, they’re all raised in the same creche. Ours can’t be sayin’ anything the others aren’t.” Yeah, right. “Nah, we’re screwed.”

M'thos glanced over at his weyrmate through his fingers. "Faranth, at least we have a while until we have to do this again. Tamerel's not allowed to be interested in romance until he's twenty, minimum. The teen turns are harder than I thought."

“Agreed.” Tam exhaled. “Little shit asked me when he’s gettin’ a new sibling yesterday, Mer. All the older ones aren’t around as much. I told him I’d try to get him a lizard when he’s older and that’ll have to do.” Offering his beer to the other man, T’mhas wondered how they had managed to weather so many teenagers so close in age and not lost their hair. “I ain’t ready to be a grandpa.” He said defiantly, mostly just thinking out loud. “It gotta be easier when it’s not your kid and you don’t have to stare at ‘em over breakfast.”

"What, is Ghraisath starting to lose his edge with the girls?" M'thos asked with a sly look towards the bronze. Fianwyth echoed his amusement in a coy nudge of the massive bulk nearby. "Faranth, don't even think about that. Varethos is almost the same age I was when _he_ was born. It's only a matter of time."

Ghraisath rumbled with equally good humor. He’d no need of T’mhas or his memory when it came to greens, having caught a particularly wiley one just a few days prior, and his shiny chest puffed up with pride, though his huge wing slipped around Fianwyth in obvious affection. }: Some of us only get better with age. :{

T’mhas shot all three a _look_, but even then his smile still stuck. “Faranth, hard to believe he’s that old now.” he added quietly, wondering just where that time had gone. “He was a cute baby. And good, too. If any of ‘em have a kid, I hope it’s that one first.” His smile went slightly wicked while his foot nudged M’thos’ the way Fianywth had Ghraisath. “But not yet.”

"A few more turns yet, I hope. It'd be nice to have the weyr to ourselves before any grandkids come around." M'thos said with a grin. "Who knows, maybe it'll be Rhas first, and he'll be the one chasing a naked toddler across the weyrbowl."

“Wouldn't that be nice. Give him a taste of what he was like.” Though the stress and worry over children wasn't something qny of them needed just yet. Faranth willing, let them grow and learn a little more before they knew the true weight of parenthood.

“Got the weyr to ourselves now.” Tam remarked with a not-in-the-least-bit coy smile. “C'mere,” he took his mate's hand, “I gotta show ya some things I ain't never talkin’ to Lem about.”
