Description: Fianwyth and Ghraisath do (some?) damage control
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 3, day 22 of Turn 12
Notes: Mentioned: Lemhask, Varethos, M'rhas, Z'renh
}: Ghraisath, can you please tell your rider that his son will be
going to bed without supper. :{ Fianwyth said nonchalantly from her
place still above the hatching sands. Her eyes still whirled an amused
green and blue as she looked across at the bronze. }: It's for
fighting. He also wants him to know that the redfruit doesn't fall far
from the tree.:{
The new security measures had Ghraisath on standby to ferry visitors
at a whim’s notice, though whose whims it was he wasn’t quite sure.
With an ear ‘cocked’ to that cue, his eyes fixed jovially up at
Fianwyth. His rich rumble was unmistakably amused, lilting
suspiciously like laughter, which had not been T'mhas’ first reaction.
}: We aren’t surprised. It is always that one. :{ Ghraisath said
pleasantly, the lack of elaboration or concern already the cue T’mhas
to relax - well as much as he could with his parents arriving and his
son Impressing and fighting all within the candlemark. }: Mine wants
to know who he put in a headlock this time, and if that means he’ll be
sitting out his own Hatching Feast too. :{
}: He punched Adamanth's in the neck. :{ Fianwyth tattled. }:
Adamanth's hit him first. It was a good hit. :{ She added, more from
M'thos' thoughts than her own on that matter. She didn't know what the
criteria was, and didn't much care. Human bodies were so weak compared
to dragon bodies. What didn't hurt them? }: But yes, there are several
little ones that won't be attending the hatching feast tonight. :{
}: They won't be pleased. :{ Ghraisath chortled, not needing to
specify who. His rider's parents were lovely in their own ways, he was
fairly sure, but T'mhas was easily aggravated in their presence. His
own son's absence on such a day would be _felt_.
With a more covert brush of their minds, Ghraisath shook that off and
continued, }: It’s good M'rhas found His this time. He and Alzaryth
will grow up quickly and that one has _a lot_ of growing to do. :{ His
sigh suddenly heavy with vain regret, he added, }: But we’re _all_
going to lose sleep now. :{
A low croon came sometime later, zeroing in on a familiar blond head
exiting below. He sent Fianwyth the image of Varethos with nothing but
warmth wrapped around it, his own feelings as much as T'mhas’. }: Now
this one. He is not far from his father’s tree either. :{
}: Put him in front of Them. :{ Fianwyth suggested. }: He could use a
distraction. And the other littles. Mine will be a while yet. :{ She
paused as she conferred with her rider, who was dealing with much more
important things than how to keep his weyrmate's parents entertained,
}: Mine also suggests they can stay the night and see him in the
morning, if they're interested. :{ M'thos' tone had not been as
pleasant as hers was.
}: It may not be necessary just yet. Mine's not happy about it, but
he's handling it. :{ Ghraisath assured her. He didn't know if T'mhas
was handling it, just that he _would_. He also decided not to pass on
her suggestion of them staying the night this time - he had his
rider's answer to that in feelings alone.
Perhaps more success would be found with young Varethos. With a voice
of velvet, Ghraisath next bespoke the young man on the benefits of
joining his grandparents, even if only for a drink.
}: Well at least this one is fine. :{ He said dryly afterward, sending
Fianwyth the image of Lemhask happily holding another boy's hand. }:
Mine also wants to see yours later if the other one- :{ M'rhas’ image,
}: ever allows it. :{
}: I dunno about 'fine', :{ Fianwyth said in the tone of someone who
suspected the kid was going places that weren't academic. }: But it's
nice he has a hobby. Mine suggests bringing him a strong drink later,
once the little ones are asleep. :{
Ghraisath was quite fond of Lemhask, but he did rumble in amusement,
chiding in a voice very similar to the one T’mhas never used around
the children, }: Naughty. He may surprise. :{
Ah, and right there was the ‘nudge’ from T’mhas. Back to work.
Ghraisath stood and stretched out his great wings, and limbs, and neck
and tail until he felt Fianwyth had seen _just_ enough, and then leapt
easily into the air. After a quick relay with his rider, the bronze
told her, }: That’s good. We’ll see you later then. I’ll bring a
wherry! :{
