Grinning tolerantly down at Daigoro's bronze, who was nibbling on one last treat, she tied the roll of paper to his leg. "Now, Wort." Hearing his name, he looked up. "I want you to send Fey back when you get this to Daigoro, all right? You know her. She'll listen to a big, strong, handsome bronze like you." Cinale mentally fixed the image of her petite young green firmly in her mind, projecting the image to Wort--just like Daigoro had taught her. The flit cocked his head at her, his jeweled eyes whirling brightly at the compliment before giving a brassy little chirp. "I'll take that as a 'yes ma'am'," she chuckled, giving him a fond scratch. "Now off with you, hon."
Shoving the last bite of meat into his mouth, Wort spread his long wings and jumped from her writing desk, winking casually /between/ to his master.

Daigoro was trying to ignore the little green as she picked through his hair. He was trying to study the plans for the vasts so he they could figure out just how to dismantle them to be shipped, but he found the little green distracting. He didn't have the heart to send her away, though. She seemed rather fascinated with the silvery strands especially.
Her attention shifted, however when Wort burst in from /between/.
"And what have you got for me, boy?" the Hallsecond asked with a grin as he set the plans aside. With a smile he removed the letter from the little bronze's leg and gave him a grateful scratch. "Now, take Fey off somewhere and keep her busy while I read my letter, ok?" The two thankfully disappeared, and Daigoro leaned back into his chair to read in peace.

My hon, I think a Turnover wedding is a marvelous idea! Even though we'll have to wait a bit more, it will be worth it, I think, to celebrate on that day. I can't imagine anything more perfect. You really are a romantic, aren't you, love?
I must confess...I've never seen a runner race before. But when I think about it, you do look like a man who would watch the races. I'd love to watch them with you, hon, on our wedding day. You'll have to teach me about how to place a smart wager--no doubt there's an art to it, like there is to baking those cookies you love so much. Remember that day when you stole the whole tray from me and ran out of the kitchens like a watchwher was after you? Acting like a boy no older than fifteen, you were. I'll have to make a batch just for you when you arrive here... And I know the perfect tree we can sit under and eat them at, too.
I hope everything is going well at Amethyst Cliff, Daigoro. I'm always thinking of you.
Love, Cinale

Daigoro leaned back and smiled. Cinale's cookies. Shards, but he could use a whole tray full of them. And a big cup of klah to go with them. Not the liquid they seem to think passes for klah that they had at the moment. It tasted more like the leaves than the bark of the tree. He scrunched up his nose at the thought of the foul tasting stuff. But they had to make do with what they had...
He reached for his pencil and turned her letter over. After careful thought, he began to write.

My Dear Beauty -
I do remember that day. But how can you blame me for running away with your cookies? They're the best on Pern. I truly think so. I am very much looking forward to sitting under a tree with you. It should be full spring by the time I arrive at Amber Hills. That will be a lovely time to be sitting under trees I should think.
I know spring is not far away now, but these chill mornings and nights make it feel like spring is turns away. I hear Amber Hills has an electrical heating system. That must be very nice and cosy. But I should think I would much prefer a nice roaring fire, don't you? I love the smell of them, and the sound of them as the logs pop out their sprays of sparks. And the light cast by them is so soft and warm. I hope that we will someday have a home with a nice fireplace in it that we can sit together in front of and sip tea, perhaps read a book or just talk about our days. That thought keeps me warm on the cold days. Thinking of you always warms me.
Well, I better go before one of the lads catches me and reads this over my shoulder. 'Romantic' is not exactly the best reputation for a big old brewer like me. I think if I am, then that side of me is only for you to see. I love you, and I hope to see you soon.
Daigoro
