Karaya was sitting at thr table in the weyr that she shared with her weyrmate. It was a big change from the weyr she had before. She smiled as she made a few more stitches in the first official decoration for their home. They had been there for a bit and she had finally gotten it arranged how she wanted it.
She glanced up and noticed a bench that was out of place. She stood and made her way over to move it to where she wanted it.
Ch'lvias had been looking forward to coming home all afternoon. It was nice thinking of the fact that he was going back to the weyr he shared with Karaya and her green. He had never thought that he would feel that way about anyone let alone at such a young age, but he did.
With a smile he stood in the doorway and watched as his weyrmate was rearranging a bench. "Is it where you want it to be, now?" he asked his tone light.
She turned and smiled. "I believe so. I never thought I'd get it all arranged right. What do you think." Her heart sang. She smiled warmly.
"I think it looks wonderful, just like you do." he replied closing the distance between them quickly to embrace her in a heartfelt hug.
She smiled as she held him return. "Thank you love. Our little one is growing so fast. I feel so big." She placed a hand on her stomach. she smiled as she felt the usual kick. She took his hand and placed it on her stomach to let him share in the feeling.
"That's a strong one. We'll need to find a fostermother at some point."
he said with a smile.
"Have any ideas who?" She asked. She hadn't lived in the weyr very long before impressing. "I don't know many of the fostermothers down there.
I only know the kitchen workers." She chuckled. She had become good friends with the headwoman and her second. She decided she needed to see them again anyway.
"I'd suggest my fostermother, but she's leaving soon to go back to the hold of her youth. She feels like she should live out her last days in her childhood home. Her daughter Caydixa is a childhood friend of mine who has a young son and is looking for another to foster." he said with a grin as the baby kicked his hand as if in protest of having it there.
"Hmmm, she might even feel better if that fosterling was one of yours."
She smiled. "Perhaps I should go to the head woman and talk to her about setting up a day to talk to Caydixa about it."
"That sounds good to me. Knara said to tell you that she wants to get together some evening to play cards."
"That sounds perfect. I can't wait." She smiled contentedly. "Have you been thinking of any potential names for this little hatchling of ours?"
"I've come up with a few, but I don't know if they're any good. Have you any ideas?" he said anxious to hear her ideas before putting out his own suggestions. He didn't want to sound silly.
"Well I've had a few." She blushed a bit as she thought of them, "Perhaps something like Karlvias if a boy or Chalviya if a girl?"
"Those are much better than the ones I came up with." he said with a grin. "Rayvia or perhaps even Chikaran if it was a boy." he elaborated deciding that if she shared her ideas then he should share his own.
"Oooh I like Rayvia. It's so pretty." She smiled. She was getting more excited. "Well, we'll just have to keep that one on the list then."
"Yes, of course. How about Chilvyios, Karyyios, or Krayios." She suggested. "Hmmm, unless you have a family member we could name after?"
"I like Krayios. I don't know any of my relatives names, unfortunately." he said sadly. He had sometimes wished that he had family members to share happy events with as a child, but the Weyr and Karaya were more than enough of a family for him now.
"Then it's settled. Rayvia if it's a girl and Krayios if a boy." she smiled up at him. He was wonderful to her. She had never expected to find someone quite like him. She tilted her head a bit. "Hopefully we won't have a set of twins."
"Well if they were a boy and a girl, then we'd be fine. Otherwise we'd have to come up with another name. We'll manage somehow if there is another baby in there." he said with a grin. He had never really thought of the possibility of more than one baby at a time.
"Don't we always. Shall we go down for the evening meal my Love?" She smiled as she linked her arm with his.
