S'yen

After the “Flight Talk” lesson with the Weyrlingmasters, A’ris left
feeling more than a little concerned. He’d known, of course, that
Kyllavath could possibly catch a green in a mating flight, but he’d
put off the worry of what to do in bed with a man until he could do
something about it… Which was now. The Weyrlings were officially in
the ‘all clear’ for _intimate_ relations.

He didn’t want his first time with another guy to be a surprise in a
flight room. A’ris went to the only person he trusted, the same person
who had kept his other secret, too.

S’yen.

“I guess you’re feeling relieved? About restrictions being lifted?”
A’ris asked when he found the blue Weyrling in the Dining Cavern.

“Oh, you have _nooooo_ idea,” S’yen answered. He dramatically rolled
his eyes. “I am absolutely making a list of guys to start with.”

“Right, about that… Guys, that is,” A’ris said, inhaling a little as
he tried to sort out how to go about his pitch. “Since Kyllavath might
catch a male greenrider’s dragon, I suppose I need to, uh, see how
things work with a guy, right?”

“Yup,” S’yen said flippantly, not really catching on to the issue
immediately because he didn’t see a problem with that. Then he paused,
looked at A’ris. “Are you even _into_ guys?” he asked bluntly.

“I….” A’ris trailed off, his eyes narrowing as he considered. “Don’t
really know? I grew up pretty isolated so it wasn’t something I ever
really saw at home but….” He huffed out another nervous exhale. “I was
hoping you might help me figure that out?”

S’yen gave him an indecipherable look. And then burst out laughing.
“Wow, a big guy like you at a Weyr and _no one_ has tried to pick you
up yet? Damn. Sure, I’ll pop that berry. What do you want to figure
out?” S’yen went on to name different positions, combinations, and
techniques, counting them off on his fingers.

A’ris’s dark eyes grew increasingly larger in diameter as S’yen
rattled off his list. Reaching across the table, he put his hand over
S’yen’s to keep him from counting off anymore. “Hold on. We’ll need to
start, uh… real basic. And what do berries have to do with this?”

“Euphemism. Don’t worry about it.”

S’yen tapped the table in thought while he looked A’ris over. “Okay, I
can work with this. Have you ever kissed someone?”

“Girls, yes,” A’ris said. “I suppose that doesn’t work any differently?”

To answer that question, S’yen licked his lips suggestively.

“I mean, the basics are still there. Girls lips, boys lips, same
lips,” he added after that tease. “It only really changes when you get
down to what’s in the pants. But we can work with that later. So,
we’ll start with kissing. Ease you into the water. Then we’ll get to
blowjobs or something.”

A’ris’s klah spewed out of his mouth as he hacked up a lung. “Whoa,
don’t just throw that word out so casually like that when I’ve got a
mouthful of klah.” **Shells, he’s got a mouth on him… In more ways
than one, I guess.**

S’yen winked with saucy wickedness. “You’ll be fine. Just don’t
overthink it. Go with what feels good. If you want, after kissing, we
can take a couple of rum shots and that’ll take the edge off really
good.”’

The brownrider exhaled. “Yeah, that sounds like a plan.”

}:Why are you nervous?:{ Kyllavath wondered. }:Flying is natural.:{

**For you, maybe,** A’ris shot back.

“Cool. Meet at my weyr this evening?” S’yen asked.

“Sure.” It was a simple word, but it felt like diving off a cliff.

S’yen got up from his seat. He clapped A’ris on the shoulder as he
went to pass, but then, out of flirtatious spite, he lowered his mouth
to the brownrider’s ear and murmured, “I’ll make it _sooo_ good for
you,” in a breathy tone meant to tease.

A shiver raced down A’ris’s spine. It was unexpected but not unpleasant.

He turned suddenly and grabbed S’yen’s hand to keep the bluerider from
leaving. “Just one thing… I don’t want to be a story that’s told to
the other guys, okay?” He thought of the raucous conversation the male
Weyrlings had shared about who their partners would be.

S’yen considered this for a long, boring moment. “No kissing and
telling? Sure, fine, I can do that. Whatever. It’s not like people
aren’t going to talk about you for one reason or another. No one’s
gonna care that a brownrider got a blowjob from a bluerider.”

“It’s not the brownrider and the bluerider part I’m worried about.
It’s the, I don’t know what I’m doing part that I’m worried about,”
A’ris clarified.

The bluerider shrugged his shoulders, uncaring. “Everyone has a
terrible first time. It’s a rite of passage. Don’t worry. You’ll be
fine and I won’t tell anyone.”

“Well, when you put it that way,” A’ris huffed. **Even more to look
forward to.** He waved S’yen off. “I’ll see you this evening.” S’yen
winked and bared his teeth playfully as he left.
