Humming softly to herself, Cinale wet the rag again before moving around to finish wiping down the last stretch of the counter. She didn't mind being the last person down here, and the head cook of Amber Hills Hold was especially grateful to her for offering to stay so late. **She sure will miss me when I'm gone, I think,** Cinale thought to herself with a silent chuckle.
But staying late...it was a habit, really. She'd always been the last one in the kitchens back at Amethyst Cliff. But perhaps it was more than that now. Shrugging away those memories of restless nights and dreams that should be forgotten, she resumed her cleaning. Now all she had to do was dry it....
Daigoro smiled when he stepped into the kitchens. "How did you know I'd be in need of a pot of klah tonight? Or is this just a chance meeting?"
"I don't think you ever come down here just by chance, my love," Cinale grinned, turning around to look at her fiance.
"You're right. I come down in search of snack food that I probably shouldn't indulge in if I'm going to impress you on our wedding night with my manly physique," he chuckled patting the slight bulge at his belly. Sitting behind a desk certainly was doing nothing for his figure, though he had lost weight after the earthquake while they were doing the hard excavation work.
Blushing, she set the rag aside and came forward to brush her lips against his cheek. "Should I withhold cookies from you then?" she teased, leaning her head against his shoulder.
"You would really torture me like that?" he pouted teasingly as he wrapped his arms around her. "It's not really _that_ bad, is it?"
"Of course it isn't! Faranth, hon, it's me who shouldn't be indulging...." Though, she had to admit, her skirts did seem to be a bit looser. Not by much, but enough for her to notice.
"Oh, I don't know," he smiled, squeezing her closer, "I think I like you just this way."
"You should have seen me when I was a youngster," Cinale chuckled, linking her hands behind him. "I was as slender as Cat! Maybe even more so..."
"Well, I don't want Cat, now do I," he chuckled. "You fill my arms just perfectly, thank you."
She nestled against him. "I can hardly bear the wait..."
"Hmmmmm, I know," Daigoro murmured, petting the hair on her back and rocking her slightly side to side. "I told Fielton, by the way. He seemed... all right about it. But I think he's afraid of losing his favorite cook."
"And he will lose me, I think," she replied softly, blushing again. "During a couple days after the wedding...and when we have our children..."
"Yes," he murmured softly, pulling back enough to look down into her eyes.
"I've been meaning to talk to you about that. I know... it's maybe a little soon to talk about this, but... Do you want to wait to have children, Cinale?"
"Do you?"
"Well, I think we have to be honest with ourselves, love. Neither of us are getting any younger. If we wait, of course there is still time to have a child. But if we start right away, we may have time for two or maybe even three. I guess it depends on how many children we want to have."
"How many do you want, Daigoro?" Her expression was tender.
"I think I'd... like more than one," he admitted. "But I would be happy with just one, if that was what you wanted."
"I want at least two," she smiled.
Daigoro grinned and leaned down to murmur against her lips, "Two sounds perfect."
