As though he had been thrown viciously from the sky, I’serin abruptly found himself disorientingly back in his own body. Aluneth’s furious roar told him all that he needed to know -- Aluneth had lost the flight to another bronze.
Feeling as though he would burst out of his skin with need, I’serin pushed his way free of the ring of bronzeriders, snarling incoherently at the women who were hoping to be of use. Water, cold water, he just needed to reach cold water. His weyr. His weyr had that. The bath. The bath…
His vision blurred momentarily as he saw the sky from Aluneth’s eyes again. Chioneth entwined, disappointed bronzes leaving, that furious feeling of loss and lust. His! She should have been his! Aluneth roared again, its sound echoed through his disoriented rider as he stumbled through the corridors.
With no mate to enjoy, Aluneth turned his molten gaze towards the next best thing. }: Where is K’mai? :{ the bronze thundered at Sebeth as he arrowed for his ledge.
}:I will bring him,:{ Sebeth felt the anger and frustration radiating off the bronze and decided not to make any other comments.
K'mai was already running for the ledge and vaulted onto his dragon's neck without straps, jacket, or boots. He wasn't sure if he was disappointed or relieved or both, but the important thing now was that he wanted I'serin and wanted to give him relief.
Aluneth hissed and rattled his wings as the blue arrived but he let K'mai pass into I'serin's weyr. Inside, I'serin was fumbling with the water taps, trying to get the bath to cool quickly. Given the way that Aluneth's emotions were drowning his mind, blurring his vision constantly, he was not having much success.
Seeing I'serin heated K'mai's blood even more. He'd been pacing his weyr, fighting the urge to touch himself. Shards, he could only imagine how intense it would be to actually participate in a gold flight, the desperate need of those who didn't win . . . "I'serin." His voice was low with desire. K'mai stripped as he headed for the bath, clothes discarded without care. "I'm here."
The normally loquacious and reserved bronzerider whirled at the sound of his name (his name?) but his fingers curled into the claws he still felt as though he had. "'mai," he growled softly, dangerously. K'mai, 'mai, my, mine. His wild eyes took in the sight of the bluerider, assessing him like a predator considering where to strike its prey, before I'serin dashed forward to crush his mouth against K'mai's.
K'mai gasped -- surprised, pleased, eager -- and hungrily returned the kiss. He gripped the bronzerider, pressing their bodies together, wanting him closer. Needing him.
I'serin's claws (fingers?) threaded into K'mai's shaggy hair. A low growl rattled his throat as he kissed the bluerider hungrily. An overwhelming need to pin K'mai down and fuck him over and over was the only thing present in the bronzerider's mind. "Mine," he growled as he nipped K'mai's lower lip.
"Yours," K'mai agreed. Shards, I'serin was almost feral, and the thought of the bronzerider's lust being unleashed on him . . . "All yours. Claim me."
~*~ Fade to black ~*~
Satisfied, Aluneth released his hold on his rider's mind, though the sharp feeling of furious disappointment lingered.
I’serin returned to himself in increments. The softness of someone’s skin against his. The scent of sweat mixed with sex. The mental curtain that separated him from Aluneth drawn so that they occupied their own space again. For a terrifying moment, he feared that he had not made it far enough before Aluneth’s lust claimed him. But the body beneath his was familiar. Welcomed.
Unaware of how rough he had been, I’serin laughed weakly as he kissed the bluerider’s shoulder. “K’mai.”
"Are you back with me, love?"
"More or less," the bronzerider answered as he rubbed his cheek against K'mai's back. There was so very much to unpack -- so much had transpired in the last few hours -- but I'serin wanted nothing more than to hold K'mai, as he knew the moment he stepped back out into the world, he would find it changed. "I...am glad to discover you here and not..."
K'mai reached back to grip his arm. "I will always come for you." Then he realized what he'd said and snorted. "I mean, well . . . you know."
That earned him a throaty chuckle from I'serin. He kissed the spot between K'mai's shoulderblades as he shifted his weight, intending to move them to the bed or couch or somewhere more comfortable, when he noticed the bite marks. He exhaled softly. "I was rough," he noted sadly as his finger traced the red.
"I don't mind," K'mai purred. The thought of wearing I'serin's marks of passion for days was a thrill. "I do have a serious question." He looked back at the bronzerider, eyes searching. "Do you think we could enjoy your desk one more time?"
I'serin huffed with laughter but his smile was regretful. "I do not think so," he said. "I do not know how long they uh...will be occupied. I should prepare." He kissed K'mai's mouth gently. "Eventually. Let me remain here with you for a bit."
"_Let_ you?" K'mai turned around and slid a bit clumsily into the bath, his limbs shaky. "Stay as long as you want. It's the end of the day, you don't owe anybody anything right now. Everything can wait until tomorrow." He pulled I'serin into his arms.
The bronzerider wanted to counterpoint that but instead he let it go. Aluneth would certainly alert him to anything that he needed to know. I'serin rested his head against K'mai's shoulder. There was a long, enjoyable silence before he observed, "We will have to give up the bath as well."
"And the big bed." K'mai sighed. "I'm staying with you tonight," he said firmly, holding I'serin a little tighter. "Here or in my weyr. I don't want you to be alone." Even though I'serin had never wanted to be Weyrleader in the first place, he had to have at least some mixed feelings about this change.
There was a long stretch of quiet as I'serin contemplated this, pushed away the panic that tried to sprout, debated the pros and the cons, and all of the possible outcomes until he finally let out a long exhalation and said, "Very well. Here is fine. Aluneth will wake us if I am needed."
K'mai relaxed a little. "And if someone barges in for some reason, I'll lie my ass off about our relationship. It wouldn't be the first time I shared a bed when someone needed emotional support. I don't need sex as a reason to cuddle." He smiled. "Though I absolutely would like more sex."
I'serin kissed low and tenderly on K'mai's neck. "I believe that I can accommodate that."
