K'mai

Abrei had interrupted one highly annoyed greenrider and slapped the fingers of a very friendly brownrider before she finally knocked on a door and had K'mai answer. She'd retied her robe before wandering from her weyr, but had the feeling that the mostly empty wine bottle in her hand probably gave away her state of mind.

Nevertheless, she greeted K'mai with a friendly smile. "I'm really, really drunk. Can I come in?"

His eyebrow went up quite high, but he managed not to gape at her. "Be my guest," he said with a bow. Abrei? Drunk? Coming to _his_ weyr?

She wandered in the direction of his couch, though she looked far from steady on her feet. "I probably shouldn't be here, but there was a bronzerider in my weyr and I'm tired of them."

"Um, okay. Is it anything you want to talk about?" K'mai asked, following behind her in case she stumbled.

"Oh, no. No, no..." It seemed to take a great deal of concentration to end up on the couch, but she slumped down and offered her bottle to him. "I asked him to find me a bluerider, but he didn't like that idea. So I found one by myself!"

"And you went straight for the best." K'mai took the offered bottle and sipped. He didn't plan on giving it back. From the looks of things, Abrei had had more than enough.

"You're the only one I talk to," she retorted, tilting a little to the side.
"Well, I talk to some of the other ones when they're sick or hurt, but I talk to you sometimes just because you like to talk, so it seemed like a good choice. Besides, you like to flirt and I'm drunk enough to like it."

K'mai's mouth dropped open and he put a hand to his chest. "You have to be _drunk_ to like my flirting?"

"No," she replied, as if it was obvious. "I have to be drunk to _admit_ I like your flirting! Otherwise you'd do it all the time..." Her words trailed off with a frown. "Or maybe you already do. I can't remember why, then."

"You should drink more often. It's very entertaining," he teased.

Explaining to him _why_ she'd decided to drown herself in wine would ruin the pleasant fuzzy feeling, so she chose to smile instead. "So, are you going to take advantage of my drunken state? Because someone has to, and I already turned down the most likely candidate." Not that M'galec had gotten around to offering... though he'd been fairly friendly with the touching. He'd been flirting with her for turns, but he was taken aback by the offer.
K'mai had never actually expected her to give in. It made him a little lost for words. "You aren't going to beat me up in the morning for it, are you?"

Abrei shrugged. "Probably. But I'll be hungover, so it can't hurt _that_
bad."

"And I can run away, if I need to." A slow smile spread on his face and he sat down beside her on the couch. "So where would you like to start?" he asked, setting the bottle on the table. "Judging from your graceful walk to the couch, I don't think you're up for anything _too_ strenuous."

"That's what _you_ think." She didn't look too steady as she rose to her knees, but she managed to end up in K'mai's lap without injuring either of them. "Unless you want to try standing up, because maybe I can't do that.
But I could try, I suppose..."

Having a lapful of Abrei was definitely a new experience. And his lap liked it. K'mai cupped her face in his hands and leaned in to kiss her. It wasn't a long kiss--part of him was expecting Abrei to slap him.

Abrei had long since left any intentions of violence behind, along with the coordination to perpetuate it. Instead she got one hand into K'mai's hair and braced the other on the back of the couch to keep her balance. She hardly gave him a chance to pull back, kissing him with an intensity that lacked finesse but made up for it with enthusiasm. His eyes went wide for a moment before abandoning himself to the kiss. She tasted strongly of the wine she'd consumed and he didn't mind one bit.
Slowly he turned, moving Abrei down onto the couch. K'mai broke the kiss so he could trace his lips along her neck.

For a few moments Abrei seemed perfectly content to enjoy his attentions, bringing her hands up to caress his back slowly. Her eyes drifted shut as she relaxed into the softness of the couch. She could close her eyes and enjoy his gentle touches for a little while, and then she could reciprocate.
In a few moments...

K'mai paused and lifted his head. Abrei's eyes were closed, and her breathing was slow. He laughed quietly and shook his head. **It figures. The one time she gives in, and she goes and passes out on me.** Trying not to disturb her, K'mai climbed off the couch and then bent to lift her up. He carried Abrei to his bed and got her settled, pulling the covers up to her chest. If he was lucky, maybe he'd get another chance when she wasn't drunk.
