"Come in." Karri called out from her bed. She had been let out of the infirmary finally, but her leg was still badly bruised and she preferred to lay in her bed and read books over walking around on it. It was somewhat hard to turn pages with one hand, but she had quickly learned to pin the book down with the casted arm, so she managed. "Good morning, Karri," U'kaiah smiled as he closed the door behind him.
"These are for you," he said, holding out a small bouquet of wild flowers. "I thought they might brighten up your room a bit."
She flashed him a brilliant smile, she'd had so few visitors, and none had brought her flowers! "That's so sweet, and they're beautiful, thank you." She realized she had no vase for them in her weyr, and bit her lip as she tried to think where they could go. "I have a spare pitcher in the cabinet, would you mind putting them in there?" "Sure." He walked over to the cupboards to look for it, raising his voice so she could still hear him. "So how are you feeling today?"
Karri tilted her head side to side and gave a lopsided smile, "Better than yesterday, but not real great."
He turned around with the pitcher in hand. "Well, its still better than nothing."
"True." she said with a grin. "They could have made me stay in the infirmary another day or two, but Arilanna talked them into letting me come to my weyr and she said she'd check up on me. And my bed is definitely more comfortable than the ones there." "Oh, trust me, I know all about those infirmary beds," the bronzerider said with a rather distasteful look on his face. The last time, it had been two sevendays before he had been allowed back into his own weyr.
She playfully stuck her tongue out at him, "And now I do too."
"Probably not as intimately as I have known those beds," U'kaiah replied with a cocky grin. "Oh I'm sure you've known them _very_ intimately," Karri said as she rolled her eyes, "but I have the decency not to ask who you got to know them with!" "Oh, and you think I have the indecency to tell you?" he asked innocently as he placed the flowers on the night table next to her.
She looked at him and smiled, she couldn't play at teasing for long, it wasn't her style. "Maybe... but probably not, you aren't the type to brag about conquests." "Only about you," he teased with a wink.
