Description: Evaleine writes a difficult letter home

Date: month 3, day 7 of Turn 4

Evaleine took a deep breath, collecting her thoughts
to compose this most difficult letter. How did one
tell your dearest friend, and sister-in-law, that you
are not coming home? She had stalled and made excuses
for the delay, but it was time to tell those she loved
that she had no plans of returning to Coral Bay, at
least not anytime soon.

Zabrionya had been pleading with her since the
earthquake, trying to lever Evaleine's fondness for
her nieces and nephew to gain her acquiescence.
Though Zabrionya was her closest friend, Evaleine had
not confided, even in her sweet sister-in-law all the
reasons for her departure from Coral Bay Hold.
Considering Zabri's gentle nature and naivety, she
knew she had made the right decision.

Evaleine's full lips turned up slightly in a fond
smile at the thought of her friend and the
circumstances that had brought them so close.in fact
made them sisters. Long fingers traced the scars at
her neckline. Curious how one event could have such a
widespread influence on so very many lives.

That thread of thought brought others to mind. She
would need to write the Lady Holder as well. Faranth
forbid she should hear this news from her little
sister. There would be enough fallout as it was,
Evaleine did not want to add an irate Lady Holder to
the picture. Another smile graced her face as she
thought about the woman who was like an aunt to her.
The prospect of potential suitors would quell any
complaints from that quarter.

Evaleine did miss those at Coral Bay, but then she was
excited about this new adventure. The time she had
spent here already had just served to pique her
interest in Amber Hills Hold and the opportunities
hidden within. Another great adventure.yes Zabri
always did like those adventure stories.

My dearest Zabri,

I hope this letter finds you and the children well and
my brother home with his family instead of out at sea
with Father. I am well, and must confide in you that
there is so much here at Amber Hills to hold the
interest of one such as myself. Much has happened
since the tragedy of the earthquake. I know that I
have written to you at length about the desperate need
that followed. Let me now share with you the
happenings of the hold and surrounding halls, so that
you might understand this new great adventure upon
which I have embarked...
