Dragonsfall and ends up being introduced to Az'uka.

"And over there that's the Dining Cavern where I got to serve the Weyrleader one evening." Faran smiled as his younger sister led him around her new home. He was so glad that she was finally happy. Finding out that she could hear Dragons had been a shock, though not entirely unexpected, their great aunt had been a goldrider.
"Az'uka!" Saria cried noticing the bluerider washing his dragon in the warm water. She had met the rider a few times in the Dining Cavern and helped sooth the blue dragon once during Threadfall. She dragged her brother over waving at the rider and his blue.
The sound of someone calling his name had the bluerider glancing over his shoulder and Nilzuth turned to look as well.
"Saria" }: Saria :{. was joint greeting from the pair of them as she made her way over. Although Az'uka had to admit he didn't know the male with her, from the way she was dragging him around though remained him of himself and his sister so guessed they might have been related.
"Hello Nilzuth. Guys this is my brother Faran." Faran gave a slight bow and a quiet hello to the rider. "He's visiting from Amber Hills." Saria explained. Faran found it rather odd that Saria addressed the dragon as well but then remembered once again that she could hear him.
Siting the brush he had been using down with the others the bluerider attempted to dry his hand before offering it out for a handshake with Faran. "That's a fair way to travel" was his light-hearted comment, but unless he mistook the knots on the man's shoulder he was a Journeyman Harper.
}: Can he hear us too? :{ Nilzuth asked referring to himself and his dragon kin, while tilting his head like an intrigued child.
Saria shook her head **No. ** She told him simply patting his nose. "But he does seem to get on well with firelizards."
She said out loud. Faran looked at her for a moment before turning to the rider.
"It is a bit of a haul, but I had a restday since the children were needed for planting this morning and I have some connections up here so it wasn't that hard to arrange a ride." He told the bluerider, leaving the dragon talking to his sister. He'd stick to humans.
}: Like Chino :{ Nilzuth said in a form of acknowledgement, referring to Jenasie's flit that he got to see when she sent messages to Az'uka so the two siblings could catch up. Az'uka half looked over at where Nilzuth was talking with Saria, he could hear what the dragon was saying and found the blue's curiosity familiar and somewhat refreshing in its own way.
"Makes sense" the dragonrider returned to Faran "If you need a lift back feel free to ask away, Nilzuth and I would be more than happy to oblige."
}: Of course :{ Nilzuth added his two marks in.
"Thanks, but I've already got a ride." He said simply.
Saria nodded in agreement.
"He's been friends with a brownrider here since he was this big." She exemplified by placing her hand close to the ground.
"Ok maybe this big." she raised her hand about a foot more off the ground taking into account Faran's height.
"Do you have siblings?" Faran asked.
"Well then," he smiled "The offer is always open, and give my regards to you friend." It was possible the two dragonriders knew each other but without a name Az'uka had no real idea _which_
brownrider it was and there were a fair few in the Weyr. He smiled seeing the correction Saria had made about her brother's height.
"I do," He returned to Faran's question. "My sister Jenasie is a Dolphineer at the hall in Dolphin Cove."
"Ah I've met the Hallsecond there. Remarkable woman."
Faran said absentmindedly. "And I'll be sure to give R'nali your regards." He said as looked at the blue dragon.
Saria turned to her brother. "Do you want to pet him?"
She asked her brother, dragging him closer to the edge of the water before he could protest. "It is alright?" She asked A'zuka, though she was sure Nizulth wouldn't mind a good scratch.
Az'uka nodded at the statement that his regards would be passed on. He caught Faran's glance at Nilzuth and then Saria's reaction to that, and smiled, remembering the first time he'd managed to convince his sister to pat the blue he'd impressed. Giving Saira a smile he replied "Of course its fine"
Nilzuth took a few steps forward of his own so that Faran and Saria didn't have to get half soaked, and lowed his head so the could reach his eyeridges, which was one of his favourite places to be scratched. }: I won't bite him; promise :{ the blue remarked glancing at Faran, wondering if the man was nervous.
Faran slowly reached his hand out to rub the blue's eyeridge. He'd been on dragon's before, and patted them in thanks, but he'd never scratched one just because. "He's so soft." He said quietly. "The Duty Songs never mention how soft they are." He smiled as his brushings grew more assured.
Saria grinned as well; glad her brother was enjoying it. Kio landed on her shoulder looking dejected. "Ok you big baby I'll pet you too." She told the bronze flit as she rubbed him under the jaw.
Az'uka smiled at Faran's commented, as he absently reached out to rub the blue's other eyeridge, hearing the Nilzuth give a happy coon at the indulged action. "No," he mused quietly "They don't." Truth to be told he'd never really thought about that before, being raised as a Weyrbrat, the chance to help bath dragons and pat them was common enough for that knowledge to well spread about the Weyr, he'd never considered that people outside the Weyr didn't know.
He'd assumed it common knowledge.
}: Perhaps Harpers did not wish to belittle the image of a fire breathing dragon :{ Nilzuth commented. A comment witch earned a chuckle out of his rider; he looked at Faran with a smile on his face. "Nilzuth thinks it may because that Harpers didn't want to change the image of a firebreathing dragon" was the explanation of his amusement to the Harper.
Faran chuckled at the draconic logic. "That's a strong possibility." He rubbed the blue like he would rub Kio, the smile on his face growing.
Saria was so glad her brother was enjoying himself.
He'd played the big stronger brother for much too long; it was time for him to relax a bit.
Az'uka gave a smile of his own; watching the interaction between Nilzuth and Faran, the two got on well. *looks like you made a new friend** was the comment he made to the blue. }: You too :{ Nilzuth returned.
