Description: Az'uka and E'naer take some time to catch up
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 5, day 10 of Turn 4
The bluerider leaned against the side of his dragon who was currently
nested on the ground the two had just gotten back from a small
errand. With his shoulder blades up against the twilight blue hide of
Nilzuth Az'uka closed his eyes for a moment. }: You need rest :{ the
dragon intoned with a rumble. ** All in good time ** he returned as
he pushed back from his relaxed posture and undid the ridding straps
and dropped the causally over his own shoulder. Giving Nilzuth a
hearty pat he bespoke him again ** Why don't you get some of your own
in, after all you do complain my snoring annoys you ** he joked
remembering a comment the blue had once made about this companion in jest.
Nilzuth shifted his weight between his feet as if thinking about it,
before snapping his wings open and launching skywards in a classic
show-off manner that the blue had always displayed. Az'uka shook his
head lightly ** Fishing for greens again? ** He asked his dragon. }:
If they chose to be awed then that is their choice :{ was the smug
reply and Az'uka had guessed that at least one had looked up.
It was Eillispeth that looked up. }: He is handsome, isn't he? :{,she remarked.
**Aaah, yes, ** E'naer replied with appreciative nod, although he was
watching the blue's rider.
With his riding straps still over his shoulder the bluerider turned,
to head towards his weyr when he spotted E'naer a short distance
away. With a beaming smiled crossing his face he waved to the other
man, the two hadn't really had that much time to catch up since
Az'uka had arrived, but they had certainly seen each other in
passing. "E'naer!" he called, "Where have you been hiding?" was the
joking question as he approached the man.
"At the weyrling barracks or at the dragon infirmary," E'naer replied
with a warm smile. "How's life in the wings?" Sometimes he missed
being just a regular wingrider.
With a smile still on his face Az'uka stopped next to E'naer "As
controlled as always," was the light hearted comment as he looked at
the greenrider, "I'm not ready to trade it in through" he added, "How
about I put these riding straps and we go grab a good bottle or two
of wine?" Came the question for his fellow dragonrider.
"Sounds good to me. There's nothing better than good wine in good
company, " E'naer replied with a wink. Who knew where it would led?
To bed together, he hoped.
"I don't think I've heard words with any more truth in them than that
all day" Az'uka mused back as headed for the stairs that would head
up to his weyr, and paused. "Come to think of it I think I may
already have a bottle up there, it would certainly save us walking
back down" he said with amusement as he started up the stairs.
"Coming then?" he called over his shoulder with a smile.
"You don't have to invite me twice," E'naer said with wide smile.
With a chuckle he led he way up the stairs, on reaching the weyr he
tucked the riding straps away near where Nlizuth slept. That was when
he wasn't busy flirting with most of the greens on Pern. Racking one
hand though his some what messy hair he glanced around, "It isn't
much, but its home," he joked. In truth his weyr was just like any
other at Dragonsfall. Crossing over he main space and to one of the
cupboards and opened it, "Well it looks like I was up at the Vintner
Hall recently" he remarked as there was defiantly more than one
bottle tucked away, maybe six at a glance.
"Have they got their production up and running again?" E'naer asked
curiously. He had never been in vintner hall. When he wanted wine he
settled to what he could find in weyr's stores.
"Hmm...?" Was the reply as Az'uka pulled his head out of the
cupboard, a bottle in each hand. He looked at E'naer a little
confused, having heard the rider's question, but hadn't quiet gotten
around to processing it. The confusion fell from his face and he gave
a half hearted smile "Not as booming as they used to be, however when
I get the time I head up there. Sure its the same as what one can
find around the Weyr ... " He shrugged "I don't know sometimes it
feels good to get up there".
"If I want to get out of Weyr, I usually go to Opal Cove hold or to
the beastcraft hall," E'naer said.
"I must admit I haven't been to either of them yet, though I've been
told Opal Hall is a rather breathtaking sight" Az'uka returned as he
set the pair of bottles down between them.
"It's my birth hold," E'naer said, "So I'm prejudiced," the greenrider grinned.
Catching that grin out of the corner of his eye the bluerider smiled,
"And there's nothing wrong with that" **Everyone should be proud or
their heritage**. Was the statement he carried over, to his dragon,
rather than out loud. }: And yet you deny you father, and talk little
of him :{ the blue mused back, but didn't press the issue }: I'm here :{.
"No, there isn't," E'naer replied.
With a deft flick of the wrist Az'uka opened the bottles he'd fetched
down and smiled, "Lets drink to that then".
"Let's" the greenrider agreed and lifted up his glass to be filled..
Obliging he filled E'naer glass and then his own, the two touched
together in a silent toast that would be followed by how many more
drinks the bluerider could not guess, But he knew E'naer was right.
There was nothing better than good wine in good company.
