Supaka turned over again and pushed at her pillow. She sighed and tried to close her eyes again although they rebelled. She shut them tight and imagined Kessel's arms around her, his warm body next to hers.
**Tomorrow,** she thought. She finally sat up, slipped out of bed and walked quietly to Selka's small room. She adjusted the strewn blanket, brushed back the child's soft hair and kissed her cheek, hearing her soft snore. She suppressed a chuckle and whispered, "Sleep well, little fish. Da will be here soon."
She moved into the common area and poured herself a cup of juice. She gathered her mending basket and made her way to the couch. Selka was growing so fast that the hems in most of her clothes needed adjusting again. And of course, there were always holes to be sewn. Settling her materials around her, she resigned herself to a sleepless night in anticipation of her husband's return and began to unravel the first seam that needed adjustment.

She was on the True Runner. The familiar rise and fall beneath her felt like an old friend. She left the cabin she had shared with Kessel in search of him. She found him, of course, on the ship's bridge. He was the image of perfection, standing strong at the helm, face to the wind. The sun was setting behind him, bathing him in golden light. Her breath caught. He was her strength, her anchor. Before she knew Kessel, she was an insecure, angry girl. He had turned her into a woman. His quiet confidence comforted her soul, and she knew that she must be special for him to have loved her.
She was compelled forward. She had to touch him, to kiss him, to put her hands in his hair. She reached him in an instant and her eyes locked eyes with his. She inhaled the intimate scent that was his alone. Without a word, he began to kiss her passionately.

Her eyes fluttered open and his kisses became more insistent as he realized she was fully awake. When she realized that she was not dreaming, her breath quickened. She pushed aside the garments in her lap and threw her arms around him. Her hands moved to touch his back, his arms, his chest.
She groaned as he picked her up and carried her to the bed without stopping the kisses that seemed to intoxicate her. Their lovemaking was intense and short-lived, but mutually satisfying.
Supaka sighed contentedly. She positioned herself against her husband's body just as she had imagined herself hours before and whispered, "I thought you were scheduled to anchor mid-morning. What time is it?"
"About the 4th candlemark. We caught a favorable wind," he smiled and kissed her hair. "I had intended to just slip in to bed with you, but you were asleep on the couch looking so beautiful. I just couldn't help myself.
It's been so long."
She grinned. "Yes, it has. I didn't realize I'd fallen asleep out there. I was so eager to see you, I was having trouble sleeping. Honestly, it was as if I were a young girl on the night before a gather." She shook her head.
"All that excitement just for me?" he teased.
"Just for you. And you didn't disappoint me." She chuckled quietly. "I was afraid we were going to wake up Selka."
"That little fish can sleep through a hurricane. She pretty much did tonight!" he smiled with satisfaction.
"She'll be so excited to see you. I didn't tell her you were coming, or I'd have never had a moment's rest until you got here."
"Well, you're not going to get a moment's rest now. I intend to take advantage of every bit of the time we have together...especially the time alone." He pulled her to him.
She couldn't believe he was ready so soon. "Again?"
"The first time was all about need, my darling. This time is all about desire."
