"Hello, Nytha," K'mai said as he set his tray down. "How have you been?"
"Busy," was the greenrider's reply. "You?"
"The same," he smiled. "But some of it's in the good way. Friends are worth making time for. Fellow wingriders as well." His smiled widened.
"Ahh, those kind of friends," she said with a grin. K'mai was known for being very friendly and welcoming to all in the weyr. "But you aren't so busy now?"
"Not at the moment." He took a small bite of his meal.
"Well there's a coincidence, I'm not that busy now either," she said with a smile this time, not a grin.
"Perhaps we should finish our meal, and then we'll see if we can find something to keep ourselves busy." K'mai took another bite.
"Did you have something in mind?" she said, her tone light as she reached for her mug of klah. "I know a few things that might interest you."
His eyebrow went up. "I'm interested to hear your ideas."
"Well you see, it starts like this..." She leant over and whispered something in his ear. It wasn't scandalous, or at least not by weyr standards, but something that she hoped he'd find intriguing.
"Hmmm ..." The bluerider grinned. "I haven't done that in a long time.
I'd like to see your particular ... view on the subject."
"I'm sure your view would be just as.. interesting," she teased.
"Particularly as I heard of a new twist on it that apparently makes things better."
"Better?" K'mai asked. "If i hadn't learned several times over what skipping meals does to stamina, I'd say we should leave right now." He chuckled.
"But I think I can manage to wait a few more minutes while I finish. And I'll try not to choke."
"Don't rush, for this I need someone who can last," she teased even more after taking a sip of her klah. "I intend to finish my redfruit, unless you want me to bring it with me???"
"You can can eat it here. Unless you have a more interesting use for it in mind." He winked.
"I'm sure I could think of something," she said as she sliced it open with a knife. "But for now I'll just eat it."
K'mai laughed and then returned to eating his meal. "We could always get another one later," he said between bites.
"That we could."
"Where should we go, your weyr or mine? Or would you like to try another location?"
"My weyr isn't far," she suggested.
"Good. Less walking is always nice." There were only a few bites left on the bluerider's plate.
"Two, maybe three minutes is all it should take."
K'mai swallowed and smiled at her. "Not even a chance to get impatient on the way."
"Then hurry up and finish that dinner, I'm ready when you are." After draining his glass, he stood and said, "Let's go!"
