"So do you think we have enough?" M'delon asked as he added his marks to N'los's and R'set's.

}:Why do you need those?:{ Valinth questioned as he peered over his lifemate's shoulder at the odd pieces of round wood that gathered on the ground before the three boys.

**So we can get Enrad a flit egg** M'delon replied.

"I think so," R'set replied with uncertainty. "I mean, how much can they be?"

"A lot."

"I think we have enough," N'los fingered through the marks. "I remember when Divad got his flit, he paid about this much. Actually, I think we have more than he did."

The boys sighed. They had been saving those marks for sometime now.
M'delon was saving his marks long before he decided to get a flit for Reyina.
N'los was saving his marks for a good dagger, and R'set, he was just saving to save. Yet, after Enrad walked off empty handed again, they realized they had to do something so they decided he needed the company.

"Well, we better get back to the Dining Hall before I'bellu and Ch'nad sell the rest of those eggs," M'delon advised. He began to shovel the marks into a pouch. It was heavy once all the marks were inside, he just hoped there was enough.

Though it was a rest day, the dining hall had a few people lounging around enjoying the warmth. Some were playing chess, while another group was deep in game of dragon poker. Then there was I'bellu and Ch'nad. The two riders sat by the hearth with the clutch of eggs between them. I'bellu was bartering hard with a man, while Ch'nad sat back and strummed a light tune on his guitar. It appeared intense until they finally came to an agreement and the man walked off with an egg.

"Go on, M'delon," N'los and R'set pushed him forward to the two riders.

The blue rider glanced up at the boys, for a moment before his attention quickly diverted to the man behind them. "Ah, A'berso, you're back again."
He extended a welcoming hand that the bronze rider took firmly. "Have you thought about the offer?" I'bellu dared to incline.

M'delon quickly stepped out the rider's way, but he made sure to listen in on their dealings.

"Yes I have," A'berso nodded as he eyed the eggs intently. "But before anything," the rider began "I want to be sure that these eggs are going to hatch. the last thing I need is to give my daughter a dead egg."

"I can assure you A'berso," I'bellu stood to his feet, while his weyrmate continued to pick at the strings of his guitar. "That we took extra care of these eggs. We found these eggs over a sevenday ago, and we made sure not to move them until they were hard enough. We flew them back to the weyr, using the warmest sand we could find to move them. Even after going _between_ the sand and the eggs were still warm when we arrived."

A'berso studied the eggs. Which egg would he take? M'delon found himself excited about what the bronzerider would chose.

A'berso pointed at one of the eggs, signaling a grin across I'bellu's face.
"We have a deal then," A'bero finally agreed with his hand out to seal the offer.

"Yes," I'bellu accepted with a shake. He motioned with his hand for Ch'nad to prep the egg for A'berso.

The greenrider complied calmly, setting his guitar down and began to pack the egg with sand.

"I hope Alasha enjoys her new flit," I'bellu remarked as he took A'berso's pouch of marks and stuck them in a pocket in his jacket.

Ch'nad handed the bronzerider a pale with the egg inside. "Here you go."

"Thanks boys." He took the pale and kept it close, before he strode out of the hall.

"So, Maddy," I'bellu's eyes focused on the weyrling. "How's the rider life treating you, and how's you new lifemate doing?"

"Oh, well," he grinned at the mention on Valinth. "It's going really well, and Valinth is getting stronger and bigger now."

"I'm assuming he will. He's still young, but he's a good size for a brown at his age."

"He is. He's about seven feet now," he informed the bluerider proudly.

"He'll definently put Huronath to shame."

That was true, M'delon realized excitedly. "But your blue will always be faster."

I'bellu chuckled. "It's nice to see a weyrling for once that doesn't think that his brown or bronze could ever be as fast as Huronath." He shook his head before looking over his shoulder to Ch'nad.

"So, M'delon," the greenrider began. "What brings you to our hearth?"

"Oh," Ch'nad caught M'delon unexpectedly. "Me and my friends were here to buy a firelizard from you."

"Really?" Ch'nad replied with more curiosity. "And who's it for? 'Cause I'm assuming all three of you aren't going to try and Impress the same flit." He laughed amusingly and glanced back at I'bellu.

"Well, it's for our friend, Enrad," M'delon answered on a more serious note. "He didn't Impress again, and we wanted to get him something to, well..."

"Help the pain," Ch'nad finished. He nodded his head. "I'm sure that your friend will appreciate the gesture."

M'delon nodded his head. "This what we had, but we're sure it'll be enough." He handed the two riders the pouch of marks.

I'bellu took the small bag, and sifted through its content before looking back at Ch'nad and gave an approving nod.

"It looks like you have yourself a deal," Ch'nad agreed to the weyrling offer. "You can chose from any of the eggs."

M'delon looked over his shoulder and motioned for N'los and R'set.

"What is it?" R'set asked once he approached. His eyes quickly turned to the eggs.

"We can get an egg," M'delon informed his friends. "But I don't know which one to get..."

They looked around at the eggs. There were still eight left, but they could not chose which one because they all looked the same. Which would have a bronze? Which would have a green?

"Which one should we get for him?" M'delon questioned of his friends.

He only received a shrug back for an answer.

"Ch'lis," I'bellu acknowledged as another approached for the eggs. "You here for an egg too?"

Ch'lis revealed a pouch of his own marks. He had been saving them for an firelizard long before he had Impressed Omath. He was still eager to obtain a firelizard, and to his surprise Omath was even more eager than himself.

}:I am excited for a little brother or sister:{ Omath reminded his rider.

"Just one. That's all Omath and I require," Ch'lis replied.

"Okay then, just wait for M'de"- The weyrling waved at Ch'nad.

"Ch'lis can go first," M'delon replied. He wanted to see what choice his clutchmate would make.

Ch'nad gave the M'delon a grin before he motioned for Ch'lis to make a choice.

"Thank's M'delon." Ch'lis gave a thankful bow of his head before he stepped to the hearth. He peered around the eggs attempting to make a decision on which egg to take. He had wanted a firelizard even before he had left for Dragonsfall Weyr three turns ago. Every mark his mother sent him, every mark he was able to make as an apprentice, which were few and far apart, he saved. So he had to be careful on his decision.

"Do you know how to chose an egg?" R'set asked the older weyrling.

"There really is no way to know how," Ch'lis replied. "Unless it's a queen egg, an egg is just as likely to have a bronze as it is a green or blue."

Well that did not help much.

Ch'lis continued to look at the eggs. "That one," he finally came to his decision. It was more of a guess if anything, but all that really matter was that the egg hatched. He gave I'bellu the pouch of marks as Ch'nad packed the egg in sand and handed it to Ch'lis. "How long will it be before it hatches?"

"A sevenday, maybe two," I'bellu replied.

"Okay," Ch'lis took the pale and tucked it into the crook of his arm.
"Thank's for the help," he sent a nod to I'bellu.

"No problem." I'bellu waved him off.

Ch'lis was more than happy to leave with his new egg.

"Okay Maddy, which one do you want?" I'bellu looked back at the young weyrling.

"I don't," he looked around, attempting to find any suggesting from R'set and N'los, but they were just as lost as he was. It was like gambling for the hatching ground eggs. Which would have a bronze? Who would Impress? It was the same game. "We'll take tha-" No, he caught himself. Chose carefully, he reminded himself. "We'll take that one." He pointed to an egg that was closer to the edge of the hearth.

Ch'nad watched the boy. "You sure?"

Well- No, he was sure. "I'm sure," he replied.

"Okay," a grin crossed the greenrider's face.

I'bellu packed the egg in sand and gave it to the boy, while Ch'nad shook M'delon's hand.

"Thank you for the egg," M'delon added as he took the pale and handed it to his friends.

"Thank you for the marks," Ch'nad replied as he picked his guitar back, and began to strum another tune.
