Kenza lifted an eyebrow as she settled into her chair. "Oh, I don't know. I was hoping you'd feed yourself, but I suppose I could get the job done if I had to. Or I could call one of those drudges back in here to sit on your knee and feed it to you. Might lighten your mood up a bit."
"You mean they are not _planning_ on coming back?" the Wingleader asked with a pout as he set his hides aside.
"Poor, abused U'kaiah," Kenza replied wryly, pouring drinks for both of them. "We make life so difficult for you... forcing you to eat, sending the pretty drudges away..." The bronzerider chuckled. "Well, after being in the infirmary so long I am starved for good food and pretty faces."
"My face will have to be pretty enough," Kenza replied, pulling the chair up to the desk. "How are you feeling now? Used to being back full time?"
"I haven't had time to think about it," U'kaiah frowned as he looked at the stack of hides _still_ covering his desk.
"Then delegate," Kenza replied, pushing the tray towards him firmly. "It's the most important rule of leadership, after all. And D'ale and I are both wildly competent, you know." "Yes, and I have given you enough responsibilities the last couple sevendays," U'kaiah said as he picked up his fork and dug into a piece of baked fish. "You and D'ale need a break. I had my rest."
"Yes, you had your rest," she agreed, starting on her own meal. "But if you don't slow down a little, you're going to end up needing _another_ rest.
Let's practice a little moderation." The Wingleader frowned as he glanced up at his Wingthird. "Shell cracks, woman, do you always have to be so smart and so sharding right." Kenza pretended to ponder the question for a moment as she poured more herself a second glass of water. "You know, I think I do?"
U'kaiah gave a sarcastic snort. "Yeah, it would figure."
"I wouldn't be nearly so much fun if I weren't," she replied easily. "So give me some work to do and go take a few candlemarks off after lunch. You can't make up for _all_ the time you were ill at once, you know."
The Wingleader snorted, and with a nod started searching through the pile for hidework to delegate to his Wingthird. He wondered, not for the first time, if Kenza should have Impressed a bronze...
