"R'masu?" Kitali's voice was soft as she approached the dragonrider.
"I'm sorry to bug you, but I was hoping I could enlist your aid."

"Oh? With what?"

"With music." Kitali stated with a smile. She wasn't a composer, though she'd written a ditty or two before. Still, it wasn't really her forte, and she usually let those more talented take up the pen.
"I need some new songs for my childrens' classes."

"Children's songs?" His eyebrow went up. "Hmm. It's been quite a while since I wrote anything for children."

"Ah, see, then it will be a challenge for you, hm?" Kitali placed her hands upon her hips, still smiling upon the dragonrider. "I don't need anything fancy, just simple tunes that help me teach some general and basic musical concepts."

"Are there any themes you want me to use, or any particular concepts you want to focus on?"

"Various ones." Kitali ticked off her fingers as she went over the concepts. "High and low, loud and soft, movement in relation to the music, rhythm...you know, the standard things." She let her hands drop to her sides. "I just want some new music instead of repeating the same ones over and over again."

R'masu chuckled. "I see. Some variety."

"Yes, variety is the spice of life, right?" Kitali smiled. "Children do need some repetition, but after a while, even that begins to grate on them."

"And new things are exciting," he said. "I'll see what I can come up with, and I'll get back to you in a few sevendays."

"That would be wonderful." Kitali had written some music herself, but she found herself getting stuck in a rut at times, and having a fresh eye certainly spiced things up. "I'm sure the children will be glad to learn some new songs too." Of course, there were lots of songs in the archives, but she liked to have new ones to teach as well.

"Speaking of children, how are yours doing?" he asked.

"They're doing well, thank you." They had adjusted pretty well to the changes, though they still missed M'van. Kitali missed him too. Her anger at him for cutting things off completely had dissipated, leaving sadness behind, but she wasn't going to go into her troubles with R'masu. "Running me ragged, but doing well. How about you? How are you doing? We haven't really had a chance to talk since my return."

"I'm doing well," R'masu answered. "I've been writing a few new songs, and I perform at the Vintner Hall Tavern once a month."

"Oh really?" That came as a bit of suprise to Kitali. "I didn't realise concerts were held there. Well, I guess not a concert per se..."

"No, just simple performances. It's a very nice place to perform."

"Oh, I see." Kitali had never been to the Tavern, but she had heard good things about it. "Once a month? When do you go?"

"I go in the early evenings, but the days vary due to Threadfall," he said.

"Of course." Kitali nodded, then smiled. "Let me know if you ever want to do a duet with someone. It sounds like something I might be interested in doing." Kitali needed to perform more often. She was supposedly a performance Journeyman, but teaching had been taken up so much of her attention as of late - that needed to change.

"Your company would be welcome any time, Kitali. I'll check my schedule and let you know the next time I'm going over there." He had a few pieces that could use a female voice.

"Great. Well, I must be off. I have some things to attend to."
Kitali started to turn, but paused to smile at the rider. "Thanks R'masu, I do appreciate it."

"Have a good day, Kitali." He lifted his hand in a wave.
