Cinale

Cinale

Daigoro covered the hand that rested gently on his stomach. "Is it
because... I oiled the hinges on your oven door?"

"Nope," she grinned, keeping her eyes closed. Cinale knew that some
women grew anxious or angry when their husbands forgot their
anniversaries, but she just found it amusing. Here she was, dressed in
her finest with her hair done and he had absolutely no idea why that was
so, or why dinner tonight had been more like a feast instead of a normal
meal. "Though that was sweet of you, hon."

"Was it because I've been making an effort to hang up my wet towel after
I get out of the bath?" That was one habit that had seemed to be hard
for him to break after their marriage.

Most of the times he remembered, which made her a very happy woman.
"Nope." Shifting, she tucked her knees higher up onto the sofa,
wondering idly how much longer she should make him keep guessing.

He sighed, really turning it over in his mind. It didn't seem to be a
reward for anything he had done. "Are we celebrating something?"

There! "Mmmhmmm...." she purred, nuzzling him. He was so close now....

"Does it have to do with the Hall or is it a personal occasion?"

"It has to do with us."

"With us..." Suddenly realization hit him. "Our engagement! Oh
Faranth, love, I'm so sorry. I forgot. I should have remembered..."

"Love, you remember so many other things..." She propped herself up to
look at him, expression affectionately amused. "I figured that maybe I
could cut you some slack this time."

"I'll make it up to you, I promise," he said, reaching out to stroke her
cheek the with back of his fingers.

Her smile was rather coy. "Really?"

"Of course I will," he said emphatically, feeling like a total heel for
forgetting such an important day. "I'll take you somewhere special.
Where do you want to go?"

Cinale tilted her head thoughtfully. "Anywhere?"

"Anywhere," he promised solemnly.

"Let me think about it?"

He kissed her softly. "Take all the time you need. Perhaps we can go
over the Turns End?" If they could escape the Hall duties for a few
days. After all, that would be their true anniversary, and he would
rather spend it with her alone than a Hall full of people.

"Hmmmm...." Leaning forward, she let her lips brush over his,
lingering. "Yes. But you know, love...."

"Yes?" he purred, liking the feel of her so close.

"I can think of someplace we can go right now. Someplace
rather...close." Shells, that wasn't very subtle now, was it?
Blushing, she pulled back a little to gaze at him.

His eyes widened a bit, both surprised and pleased at the direction his
sweet wife's mind was turning. "Really, love? And where would that
be?"

Shyly she dropped her eyes.

Daigoro's smile turned soft as he gently lifted her chin. "Eleven
months married and still blushing like a new bride. What a treasure you
are."

Her fingers caressed down his arm as she peeked at him through her
lashes. "You wouldn't hold it against me?"

He chuckled taking her hand and bringing it up to his lips. "No, my
sweet. But I might love you all the more."

Her hand slipped from his light grasp to gently touch his cheek. Elven
months married, but Turns of friendship. She was a lucky woman to have
him. A very lucky woman. "I love you, Daigoro."
