Description: Sorsha and Railen sneak away together.
Location: Elsewhere on Pern
Date: month 13, day 8 of Turn 4

"So, do you think we can sneak off again this afternoon?" Sorsha asked with a hint of mischief in her voice as she came up behind Railen and wrapped her arms around his waist and snuggled into his warm back. While their lovemaking the day before had been somewhat clumsy, she was eager to keep practising until they had it just right... and then to practice some more.

"I don't know." Railen stated, turning his head so he could look at her out of the corner of his eye. His lips twitched upwards, unable to hold back the smile. It felt good when she touched him before, even more so now. They had given themselves to one another, and there was a special bond. Ceremony or no ceremony, Sorsha was his wife by virtue of his heart. "Think we can come up with a convincing reason?"

Sorsha chuckled as she let her hands sneak under his tunic. "Why I need riding lessons of course."

"Perhaps we should start you back on jumps." Sorsha's touch was arousing enough as it was, but skin to skin contact made it worse. He turned around and drew her close to him, leaning down to kiss her deeply. "After all," He breathed softly after breaking off the kiss, "You won't always be able to go around obstacles."

"Jumps it is then." Sorsha agreed as her body gave a little shiver of excitement at the promises Railen's hands and lips were making.

"Will it always be like this?" Sorsha asked as she looked up at Railen's face from her new favorite position, the little nook her head fit into between his shoulder and chest. They lay beneath a shade tree, the two runners they'd rode out on wandering nearby, both naked but covered by the thin blanket Railen had brought in his pack. Their lovemaking had been even better today, both of them starting to figure out what the other enjoyed, and relaxing as the nervousness faded into memory.

"No." Railen grinned ruefully, twisting his neck to look back at her. He felt so satisfied, so content. He wished that they didn't have to move, to get on with work and life. He would have been happy to simply stay right there with her forever if it had been possible. "There will be ups and downs, lovemaking and fighting, lightheartedness and worry." His arm tightened around her and he moved just enough to plant a kiss upon her forehead. "But the good times will outweigh the bad and nothing will ever change my love for you."

"Nor mine for you." she replied happily as she hugged him tighter with the free arm that was draped across his chest. She felt like she could fall asleep, the air was so warm and she was so comfortable. They didn't have much time though, she'd promised to be back in time to do some handwriting before helping with dinner.

Railen gently nuzzled her hair with his chin. Yes, it was just as it should be. Sorsha in his arms, enjoying one another, enjoying life. Everything was just right.

Sorsha turned over so she could look at his face better, "Do you think we should have children right away, or should we wait awhile?"

"I like children." Railen stated with a chuckle, pecking her cheek with a kiss. "But it would be nice to just enjoy each other once in a while. Of course, if a child happens, I'll enjoy him or her too." It was possible. After all, they weren't exactly taking any precautions. Or was she? "You're...are you doing anything to stop it?" He had found out about the herbal concoction at the weyr from some friends of his when they had tried to get him to be with a woman. Did Sorsha know about it? She had been at the Weyr, it was very possible. But how would she get any?

She blushed and ducked her head a bit. "No, I haven't been. I didn't exactly plan on this and it takes awhile to start working. If it happens though, we're close enough to the wedding that no one will suspect anything. And I'm good with waiting awhile too. Though I would like a couple of cute little boys that look just like you."

"That's all right. I'll take whatever happens gladly." Railen assured her, flicking her nose gently with his finger. "And I wouldn't mind a couple of girls as beautiful as my wife."

"As long as they have your eyes." She agreed. She'd be happy to give Railen a dozen children if that's what he wanted.

Railen laughed, "What's wrong with your eyes? I think you have beautiful eyes. And a beautiful mouth." The young man leaned down to kiss her, but did not let it linger. "And a beautiful chin...a beautiful neck..." His hand traced a path over her chin then made their way downward, teasing.

She gasped as he reached her more tender areas, and then giggled as she rolled away from him. "I'm _trying_ to have a conversation with you."

"We can have a different sort of conversation." Railen suggested, his blood already stirring at her closeness and the feel of his hands on her body. "Then we can pick up where we left off afterwards."

Sorsha giggled again, her body responding to his touches instantly. "I have a feeling you're going to be impossible for lengthy talks for awhile."

"What can I say?" Railen crooned as he linked one of his legs over hers. "I'm addicted to you. Besides, we can have a perfectly lengthy talk while we walk back. After all, your runner looked like she might have been limping a bit."

She gave a little scowl as she had noticed no such limp, but as he continued to draw his hands across her body, she found it harder and harder to concentrate on little details such as that.
