Description: Sarban and Panyin finalize plans to create tapestries for the Hold.
Location: Emerald Falls Hold
Date: month 13, day 7 of Turn 4
Panyin waited patiently for Sarban to arrive. He was sitting on his stool working on a tapestry of a holder watching flits at play on a beach. It was one of his more favorite sketches that he had made. It was not a commissioned work so he could take his time on it. The holder was a woman. Actually, it was a girl he had seen at the hold. He had seen her about and she had given him the impression of silent strength. Her pale white blond hair was so different. He smiled. She was finished and he was now putting in the strands that would be the flits in the sky.
After speaking with Corowal about the whole thing, Sarban was confident about his choice and was glad that he could get the project rolling finally. Hopefully, Panyin would be able to finish the tapestry before Turn's End was over. They could present it to Lord Corowal and the Hold in a ceremony if so. Entering the journeyman's workroom, he let out a whistle at the young woman in the tapestry laid out.
Panyin glanced up and smiled. "She is pretty, isn't she? I've seen her about the hold lately. Her very pale hair is such an interesting color." He turned and gave Sarban his full attention. "So, have you and Lord Corowal decided on which one I am to do?"
"Aye well here's the funny thing. The Lord wishes for you to do two of them. The one of the falls and the other one of the holders and himself." Sarban hoped Panyin would be able to get at least one of them done by Turn's End.
Panyin looked at the sketches he had made only a few days before and nodded. "I have been preparing my materials. I should be able to do both. It will be a lot of work." He glanced back at his loom. He would have some rather long nights ahead of him.
"Panyin, there's no need to overwork yourself. Lord Corowal will be happy as long as you could finish the one for the dining hall. The one with the Falls." Sarban had a bit of a sceptic's tilt to his head.
"I will do my best. I enjoy working on projects and seem to forget time most of the time. Once I get working I sometimes forget to feed myself." He chuckled. "I will work on the waterfall one first." He looked at the one he had been working on for a full sevenday. It was nearly finished.
"Sounds wonderful. Let me know when you're close to getting finished so we can plan the presentation as part of the Turn's End events." Sarban would discuss payment with Corowal and Panyin when they received the finished product.
