Description: Two friends reconnect.
Location: Dolphin Hall
Date: month 13, day 16 of Turn 4

Trellyn was catching up on her apprentice evaluations when one of those very apprentices knocked on the door. "There's a dragonrider here to see you. She said she'd be swimming and to join her when you weren't busy." So Trellyn put off the evaluations and decided to see just what a dragonrider wanted of her.

Erita was lazing in the water, her arms slowly drawing her through it when Trellyn made her way down to the sea. When the greenrider saw someone approaching, she turned and moved back toward the shore, quickening her pace. She climbed out of the water, hand lifted in greeting. "Trellyn! Hey!"

"Erita!" Trellyn exclaimed. When she got close enough she gave the girl a hug, her wetness a non-issue to the dolphineer. "What brings you away from River Bluff?"

"I came to make sure you didn't get too dry." Erita grinned, wringing out her tunic and whipping some of the water toward her friend. "Actually, I thought I'd come and visit. I brought some news too."

"Oh?" she hadn't seen her friend in over two turns, not since she'd been assigned to aide the River Bluff's harbormaster. "Did you finally settle down with that Captain you were always carrying on about?"

"Oh him." Erita's expression darkened as she waved her hand in front of her face. "I was planning on it but then he decided to go chase skirt. No, I'm done with him!"

Trellyn grinned, Erita never had any problem 'chasing skirt' on her own, but she didn't seem to tolerate it as well with her men, "So what's the news then?"

"I don't know if I should tell you." The greenrider teased, dancing further up onto the shore, the sand sticking to her damp feet.

"Okay, I'll go back in the Hall then." Trellyn turned towards the main hall and made as if to walk away.

"Oh come on!" Erita reached out to grab her friend's wrist. "You used to play along! When did you turn into a fuddy duddy?"

"When are you going to tell me?" Trellyn teased and stuck her tongue out at her friend.

"Maybe over lunch." Erita suggested hopefully. "I'm rather hungry to be honest and some food would do me good."

Trellyn nodded and knocked her head towards the Hall, "Sure, they should be serving soon. You'll be the guest of honor I'm sure." she added with a laugh.

"Great!" Erita bounced over to her friend and hooked her arm through Trellyn's. "Let's go!"

Erita certainly had an appetite, but her body was lean, trim, definitely a dragonrider who worked hard. She leaned back in her chair and smacked her lips appreciatively. "I'm stuffed!"

"Don't they feed you at River Bluff?" Trellyn teased as she picked at her greens. She hadn't had much of an appetite so Erita had eaten off of her plate as well.

"They do, but I had quite a work out this morning, not to mention I missed breakfast." Erita sucked a bit of bubbly filling off of her finger and then wiped it off with her napkin. "So I guess I should share my news now."

Trellyn laughed, "So you've tired of drawing it out? What's wrong with you, usually you get a good six hours out of your surprises."

"I guess I'm getting soft in my old age." Erita hooked an arm over the back of her chair. "I'm going to be transferring."

"Really? To where?" not that it really mattered, being a dragonrider meant that she could still travel anywhere on Pern whenever she wanted to.

"Here!" Erita grinned, spreading out her arms and watching her friend's face for her reaction.

The dolphineer grinned, "To Dolphin Cove? That's great! It'll be so fun to have you around, it'll be just like old times!"

"No pranks from you though." Erita wagged her finger at her friend. "Or I'll sic my dragon on you!"

Trellyn stuck her tongue out and made a face. "I'm much more mature now, no more pranks."

"I'll be holding you to that." The greenrider warned playfully, her eyes sparkling. She had a feeling that the promise wouldn't hold true for two long. "I should be here officially by next sevenday."

"Oh that's fantastic! Kibb will be so excited to see you." Trellyn grinned, already looking forward to restday swims together.

"I should hope so. Everyone should be excited to see me." Erita returned the grin with one of her own, accompanied by a mischievous glint. "After all, who wouldn't want me around?"

The dolphineer gave a bark of laughter. "Oh I don't know, your three ex weyrmates?"

"Oh come now, even they couldn't resist me!" Erita pouted playfully. "So, I was planning on going to the headwoman and finding a weyr. Want to join me?"

Trellyn grinned, she didn't often get up to the Weyr, and helping pick out a new place sounded like alot of fun. "Sure, let's stop by and see Kibb first though, I told him I was going to practice come drills with him this afternoon."

"All right." Erita pushed her chair out, ignoring its protest, and stood. "Then let's get started."
