Description: Corowal and Sarban go to see the finished tapestry Panyin has made.
Location: Emerald Falls Hold
Date: month 1, day 1 of Turn 5
Panyin had finished the tapestry for the Lord Holder. It was perfect. He had been lucky to get a color so near gold to weave in. It looked like the sun dancing on the water. He had it hung on his wall until he was sure it was everything they wanted.
Off to one side was the finished tapestry of the young girl he had seen about the hold. On his loom was the other one that was ordered. It was about a third of the way done. He was tired and his fingers were sore. But, he was happy with what he had been able to get done. It was the day before Turn's End. He hoped they were happy.
Sarban walked along Corowal's side as they journeyed to see the weaver. He hoped all had gone well. He had checked on Panyin's progress and he was confident but Corowal's final appraisal would be important, nonetheless. "Almost there, m'lord."
Corowal nearly rolled his eyes. "Can you leave off those m'lords? This isn't an official situation and you don't need to be formal, cousin."
"I need to practice. If I don't get into the habit, I might just forget in the right moment and then I'll have to be flogged." Sarban shrugged. It was true, though. If he didn't, he would likely forget and slip up. He stopped, seeing they had reached Panyin's door. Opening it, he allowed Corowal to enter before him.
Panyin stood as his door was opened. He had been working on the one he had yet to finish while he waited. He walked forward with and gave a little bow. "Good day to you Lord Holder Corowal."
"Good day, journeyman Panyin. How are things?" Corowal replied to the greeting.
Panyin smiled as he waved towards the finished tapestry. It was a work of art. He was very proud of it and it showed. "I hope it is to your liking." He moved over to stand in front of the one of the girl. It was not the one they were here to see.
"It's lovely," Corowal said after a moment of inspecting the work.
Sarban followed inside and closed the door behind him, quiet as he allowed Corowal to handle things. He looked at the cloth hanging on the walls curiously.
Panyin smiled as he allowed them to inspect his work. "I have the other one about a third of the way done. It should be finished in a couple sevendays. Will that be alright?"
"Yes, I would like it to be finished for my wedding, I'm actually planning to give it as a gift," Corowal replied.
"I'll instruct some of the drudges to come by to hang this one. You can oversee it Panyin, if you'd like. I think we'll simply drape it over until the presentation." Sarban was glad his idea had panned out. The tapestry really was perfect.
Corowal just nodded his acceptance. "Perhaps we should continue, Sarban? I'm sure journeyman Panyin is busy."
Panyin smiled as he nodded. "I will make sure the other one is ready for your wedding sir."
"Good, thank you Panyin," Corowal said.
Sarban nodded his own thanks. "Wonderful job, Journeyman. Good day to you." He held the door open for Corowal to pass through, looking at the agenda in his hand.
