Erilite ran a had through her pale blond hair. It had grown a lot since she had come to the hold. She wore a dress of a soft green with trim in a darker green. She didn't look like the girl she had not long ago. Then she had been in trousers and shirt. Ragged and unkempt. She smiled as she knocked on her father's office door. He had requested her to meet him her. There was someone her father wished her to meet.
"Enter!" Corowal called in whoever it was.
Erilite put a smile on her face and stepped in. She nodded to him as she picked up her slate.
< You wished to speak father?>
"Yes, please, take a seat," Corowal replied and gestured towards the chair.
Erilite sat in the offered chair and looked at him expectantly. She smoothed her dress absently as she watched him.
"How have you settled in to your new quarters? I believe they once belonged to Lady Lindria," Corowal asked.
< It is a bit bigger than I am used to. but, I will be okay> She smiled softly. Her quarters had been a little much. Having lived out of doors as she had for a while.
"You are my daughter, you have to live according to your rank," Corowal said. Although it wasn't public knowledge yet, the rumours were already rampart. So far Corowal had only informed his family and key staff members, like headwoman and steward, and of course, settled the legalities with the harper hall.
She smiled. She wondered how everyone would adjust to her. would she be the one doing all the adjusting?
"This takes adjusting from everyone. I confess I still have troubles to think of you as my daughter," Corowal said and admitted.
She glanced down at her hands. She had always been trouble according to the man she had learned was not her uncle but her grandfather.
"Now, now, you are not trouble," Corowal said. "The Harper hall is holding the records concerning you birth and me confirming my fraternity, if any issues ever rise on that subject," he informed her with neutral "Hallmaster Almonteo witnessed them himself, so there's no room for second guesses now."
She smiled. It felt good to be welcomed. She couldn't help but wonder what would come next. Would he look for a husband for her. She knew that marriage would be expected of her. She wasn't sure if she was ready for it, but if he thought it best she would try not to embarrass him.
"Your welcome. I'm just doing my duty. Next, I have to find some on from the hold to teach you. Stuff the lady of the Blood needs to know and do."
She nodded. She knew there would be a lot to learn.
"Perhaps one of the elderly ladies from the Solar," Corowal mused. Maybe he should ask Felyna about it.
"Well, I think that was all for today," Corowal said.
She nodded and stood to leave. Her life had really changed in a very short time. At the door she turned back and tried to show her gratitude in her smile. She didn't care what was passed form drudge to drudge in the hold. He had yet to treat her with anything but true kindness.
