Teseada

Teseada

"Onnyth told Elliath to swing by, what's up?" Karri asked as she found Teseada laying on her couch.

"Flights," groaned Teseada. "You heard who won?"

Karri chuckled. "I did. That must have been quite the shock when you got your senses back."

"I don't think he was too happy that I just wanted to leave." That was a bit of an understatement to say the least, and the story had to be doing the rounds of the Weyr by now.

Karri lifted Teseada's feet and scooted underneath them to sit on the couch, then set them back down onto her lap. "Did he try and get you to go another round with him?"

"He would have tried if I hadn't already been half dressed when he woke up," Teseada said as she settled a little more comfortably so that Karri could get comfortable too. "In fact I'm certain he would have tried."

"But he didn't actually _try_?"

"No, thank goodness."

Karri smiled. "Funny that as soon as he stops trying to influence you for Onnyth that he gets what he wanted."

"It would be funny, if it hadn't happened."

"Was it really that bad?" Karri asked, not sure if her friend was truly upset or just fuming. "You two have been bedmates before."

"Before I didn't know what sort of a low tunnel snake Larweth had picked as a rider." That she had been the subject of a bet still hurt. "I'm sure there are good bronzeriders who don't try and get people in the furs for the sake of an extra mark or two."

"Well, try not to think on it too much." Karri said. "It's over and now you can go on ignoring him if you want."

"I think I can manage that until Onnyth clutches," said Teseada. "I really thought that he might stay away for a while, let things calm down."

Karri frowned. "Well it's not like _he_ choose the outcome of the flight. It was Onnyth that chose his bronze. And didn't you say he'd gotten better of late, no fights or anything? Maybe he is trying to stay away from you."

"I really hope so. I just felt so used with what happened before and I want to have people know me for who I am, not what I am."

"You'll find someone, Teseada." Karri assured her. "Just give it time, someone will come along for you, I'm sure of it."

"I hope so, I really do."

Karri gave a small chuckle and patted Teseada's feet, "You know, hoping isn't the only way, you could go out and look for that someone too."

"Maybe when I haven't got a broody gold dragon dominating my days,"

"Or maybe that's the perfect time." Karri suggested. "If you find a fella that can put up with that, then they can put up with anything."

"True," she had to agree with that much at least. "I'd know he was patient at least."

"Perhaps even look for a crafter or holder. Someone without a dragon so you don't have to worry about their intentions." It was one of the good things about having a green dragon, no rank to speak of.

"It's a shame that healer got recalled," Teseada thought back to the young journeyman who hadn't even realized her knots showed her to be a goldrider. "He was nice, and there might have been possibilities there."

Karri could think of several men that seemed interested in Teseada, but that didn't matter if she wasn't interested in them. "Well, another one will come along. You've just got to keep you eyes open to the possibilities."

"And hope he doesn't turn out to be a tunnelsnake in dragonrider's clothing."

"Or crafter's clothing." Karri added with a grin.

"Well you never know who is around the corner. Maybe he'll come back," Teseada said with a grin starting to form.

"Maybe."
