Meledei tugged F'gol along as she headed straight for Z'ku. "Come on,
don't drag." She called cheerfully to the bluerider. Then she lifted
a hand to wave and call out, "Ho, Z'ku!"
"Hey Z'ku." F'gol echoed with a lot less enthusiasm. It annoyed him
that Meledei enjoyed the bronzerider's company so much.
"Hello." Z'ku smiled at both of them. "So, what should we do first?"
Do first? That implied that the bronzerider believed he was going to
be spending a good portion of the day with them. Well.. F'gol would
see about that.
"When is the scavenger hunt?" Meledei glanced around. There should
be a list of events somewhere, but she wasn't sure where to find it.
"There's also the snow sculpture contest and snowball fights, we can
participate in those. Oh, and I want to go through the maze!"
"Let's deal with the scavenger hunt first." F'gol suggested as he
playfully grabbed her waist. "We don't want to make Z'ku stick with
us all afternoon. I'm sure he has better things to do, though it was
nice of him to join our hunting team."
"What could be better than spending the day with good friends?" Z'ku
said. He wondered if F'gol's gesture was possessive. Did the bluerider
feel threatened?
Spending it _alone_ with Meledei.
"Is the scavenger hunt happening already?" Meledei hoped they hadn't
missed it - surely they hadn't, they'd arrived early enough. She
didn't see people scrambling about looking for stuff, but of course,
she didn't quite know what they were supposed to look for either. "Oh
wait, there's something posted over there. Let me look." Meledei set
out at a trot to where a list of events was hung upon a pole. She
perused it, then hurried back to her companions. Looks like the the
scavenger hunt starts an hour after noon."
"Would you like to do the maze then?" F'gol suggested. That would
separate them from the bronzerider. "We could meet back with Z'ku
after."
Z'ku looked at Meledei. "If you don't want me to come to the maze with
you, that's alright. I'm sure I can find something else to do."
"I don't mind, it's up to you Z'ku." Meledei shrugs and glances
about. "I think the entrance is over there. If the maze doesn't
interest you, we can just meet up here at noon for lunch or something,
then we can head over for the scavenger hunt!"
"I would like to try the maze, and I would feel a little silly
wandering through it alone," Z'ku said. F'gol could sulk all he wanted
to.
F'gol resisted spitting out some unpleasent language. Meledei
wouldn't appreciate it and he didn't need a fight with her when he was
sure Z'ku would be happy to console her for the day. Still, he
couldn't help kicking the clumps of packed snow as he walked next to
Meledei, Z'ku on the other side of her.
Meledei linked arms with F'gol, but after a moment linked her free one
with Z'ku's. Walking between them, her step was bouyant as they all
headed for the maze together.
